    El Classico Baby [R]

    El Classico in Numbers

The fervour surrounding El Clasico — aka Guardiola vs Mourinho/Messi vs Ronaldo at least according to most
publications — means a host of articles throwing innumerable figures to bowl you over. We have assembled some
of them below. We’ll keep adding to them because the truth is that they won’t stop coming until Monday night.

    - When Barcelona has lost El Clasico at home, they have only won La Liga ONCE. The last time they managed to lose and still win the League was 81 years ago.

    - Real Madrid and Barcelona have played 208 times against each other. Madrid have won 85 times, while Barcelona has come out on top on 81 occasions.

    - Under Guardiola’s reign, FC Barcelona has won all 4 El Clasicos in the last two seasons.

    - 5 Barcelona players — Valdes, Alves, Puyol, Xavi and Messi – have started all 4 clasicos since Guardiola took over as coach.

    - Cristiano Ronaldo has never scored against Barcelona.

    - In 8 games so far, Lionel Messi has scored 7 goals against Iker Casillas.

    - However, Messi has never scored a goal or had an assist in his 7 appearances against teams managed by Jose Mourinho.

    - The biggest away win in the history of the clasico was Barcelona’s 0-5 win on 17 February 1974.

    - In the Clasicos played in La Liga, the home team has won 60% of the games, with the away team only 21%.

    - Barcelona have completed 1,059 more passes than any other team across the top five European leagues.

    - In the last six seasons, FC Barcelona have won every game they’ve played on the last weekend of November. El Clasico is the Catalan’s club last fixture for this November.

    - A total of 891 media professionals, including reporters, photographers, commentators, cameramen and specialists are coming to represent 159 media from 28 different countries on Monday.

    - This is the 13th League game of the season. Superstitious!

I predict a 2-1 win by Barcelona, goals by Villa and Messi and Higuain.
what is your prediction of the score and goalscorers?

this article is a bit biased.

Madrid to win 2-1. goals from Ronaldo, Di Maria and a late consolation goal by Messi for barcelona fans.

if your going to present an event, try to do it with a bit less bias.

              GUARDIOLA, WITH ALL HE’S GOT
He decided yesterday the tactics he will use against Madrid.
He will be faithful to his system and come out with the best team, ready to attack.
              MOURINHO, DOUBTFULL

Featured article: two different styles both inside and outside the field.

Zapatero (Spain’s President) thinks that the score will be 4 – 2.
Afellay will watch it from the stands.
3000 € are paid for a single ticket. fak

It will be a great atmostphere, no doubt about it.

Last year, Barca got 6 points from the El-Classico which decided the title to be fair, so these games will be monitored closely by Mourinho.

If Madrid go for it, then I can definiitely see them gettings omething from the game. They will pack the midfield, hold it tight, and nick it late on.

It will be interesting to see how Messi does. He hasn't really done that well, whenever he plays Mourinho side. Even with the Chelsea days, Ashley Cole+Essien done a double-marking, and had him onlock.

I'm sitting on the fence.. could see it being a draw.

I can hardly analyse the game, because I hardly watch La-Liga.

I just hope Madrid doesn't score first. It will ruin the game.

This is a year that both teams have very strong squads. It will hopefully be a very entertaining game.

Its a bummer that the game is on Monday. Damn those Catalan elections that have to ruin my chance of watching the game live.
