    ... it looks like wayne rooney is seriously injured and may miss the world cup!

    he's just been stretchered off a few minutes ago in the game against Chelsea. It looks as if it's an injury on the right foot, possibly a break or a fracture... maybe something similiar to that which he sustained against Portugal in Euro 2004.

    big blow to Englands chances at the world cup! even the chelsea fans looked a bit dejected... and they're just about to be crowned premiership champions!!!

    Rooney is stretchered off with his head in his hands

    England striker Wayne Rooney could be out of the World Cup after suffering an injury for club side Manchester United in their loss at Chelsea on Saturday.
    Rooney was stretchered off at Stamford Bridge six weeks to the day before England's opening game of the World Cup against Paraguay on 10 June.

    The 20-year-old was left clutching his right foot in agony after a challenge by Paulo Ferreira.

    He broke the same foot against Portugal in the Euro 2004 quarter-final.

    Rooney is seen as being key to England's hopes at the World Cup in Germany and any concerns over his fitness would add to England manager Sven-Goran Eriksson's injury worries.

        Don't feel sorry for him at all!
        How many players did he injured with his tackels?
        He could have injured Drogba today and he did injured Terry ..So have sympathy for Diesler instead of this prick!

            Who cares about this bacheh Lat. He has no class and if he wasnt a soccer player he would be robbing houses or stealing cars.

            However as this has nothing to do with "Persian Football" move this to the genral discussions please.

                  Its just a flesh wound according to another forum and he was seen getting on the bus using crutches. Its not a solid report but could have truth in it.

                    Although I'm not a fan of England, I am a fan of football! These types of misfortunes really break my heart... This is terrible. I was looking forward to seeing Rooney's magic.

                      englands attack is in real jeapody, owen hasnt played for several months, rooney is now injured, that leaves them with, Crouch, Bent, Defoe, Vassell

                      my personal view was and had been for a long time was that Rooney would win the world cup for england, thats how good he is, but it looks like that might not b possible nemore

                              He's one of the best players in the world, easily in the top 5.

                              And Crouch would be his no 1 replacement, owen will be ready for the world cup and vassell has been out of the equation for a long time.
