(MNA) -- Iran was defeated by North Korea in the 13th Asian Women's Handball Championship on Monday.
Iran lost to the Korean outfit 47-22 in Pool A. The team will face China on Tuesday. Kazakhstan is in the same pool as well.
Pool B consists of South Korea, Japan, Thailand and Uzbekistan.
The 2010 Asian Women's Handball Championship started on December 19 and will finish on December 25 in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
The competition serves as the Asian qualifying tournament for the 2011 World Women's Handball Championship in Brazil.
