UCONN women did not break UCLA's record they broke Uconn's record

First off congragulations are in order to the lady Huskies of UCONN. Geno is a dam fine coach the best in women's college basketball but women's college basketball is not mens college basketball. You can't say they broke UCLA's record because the level of competition is different and youa are comparing apples to oranges. You might as well say Concord De La Salle High holds the record in football because they won over 100 games hs, college, and pro.

I'm not a sexist and I commend any woman who has the skills to play ball at the college level. Only 1 out of 10 on average make it to the college level so on a hs girls basketball team you usually have one girl make it and the rest go home. With that said the level of competition in women's basketball is an absolute joke compared to the mens. You have a few good teams UCONN, the Volenteers, LTU, ND, Baylor, Duke, and you have a few surprises but that's about it. In mens college basketball anyone in the top 25 can beat anyone. On top of that even non ranked teams can rise up on a good night and beat the #1 big dog. You see losses like that all the time but in womens college basketball I can pencil in Uconn to the final four and a national championship and I can also probably pencil in Tennessee as well. The rest of the two teams meh who knows but who cares?
A good varsity hs team would work Uconn lady Huskies with their 7 national championships.

Its a great accomplishment but to say they broke UCLA's record is disrespect to John Wooden.

People are trying to be political about it but everyone knows the two are not even comparable.

Exactly I feel the same way you do and that is why I wanted to say this. By the way I'm not a UCLA grad like you and I"m not even a UCLA fan I'm an MSu fan and a Cal Poly grad so I have no ties to the UCLA program. However, with that being said I have a tremendous ammount of respect for John Wooden. RIP my dad's friend was a big shot professor at UCLA and later on he was a huge contributor to the basketball program. He actually knew John Wooden and I got to meet him one time at one of his functions. RIP the guy was SO KNOWLEDGEABLE not just about basketball but about life. I felt like I was speaking to a philosopher. BTW I might need you to UCLA research this one for me the guy is Persian and his first name is Yaha. I only met him a few times but I think he is or was the head of the civil engineering dept that is what he said or he was a professor of engineering. I don't know if he still teaches there or not. Anyways I have so much respect for this man RIP. He was very humble as well because of his midwestern upbringing he was rolling in a old honda when he could easily afford a much nicer car. That is just classic midwest mentality right there the car doesn't define the man the man defines the man and John Wooden was certainly that.

To say that UCONN beat UCLA's record is really disrespectful to mens college basketball, UCLA, and sports fans in general who have common sense. You are right it is the politically correct thing to say, "Uconn beat UCLA's record they now have the college basketball record."

I was listening to Arround the horn and there was this black lady that I never saw before. She actually had the guts to say that comparing the two is like comparing apples to oranges. The others were kissing Uconn's a$$ to please the feminists.

It's sickining but real fans know what UCLA did and appreciate it for what it is even non Bruin fans.

exactly. its like saying a spanish college team won 100 straight games, therefore nullifying the UCLA record. and as sexist as it is...ill just say whats on my mind - uconn women wouldnt even win against a 100th ranked mens team today.
@ persiantiger......lol i agree with the varsity team doing work as well

Yep I just am saying it how it is and I was being kind even a good JV team could work UCONN women hard. You can take the best AAU players (which are about to enter hs) in the country, assemble 10 of them and they would work UCONN women. No disrespect but it is what it is thosue AAU kids usually are playing at a D1 college or pro ball and honestly those 8th graders would work them.

It's like saying some high school soccer team is more successful than Barcelona because they won 10 national championships in their division or whatever. Give me a freaking break the political correctness level is at an all time hi and I am t-i- red of this crap.
