Maybe ShahHouman can help. I read heard rumors that Urban Meyer may become OSU's coach? Please tell me this is not true.

It doesn't matter. I said this long ago to houman and one of his friends. The truth is BIG-10 style football (power) is obsolete. Bowl results this year prove that. Houman jaan, its nothing personal (you know you ma man ) its just the truth they have to change that culture and get updated regardless who the coach is. Now you might counter by saying UCLA is sucking a$$ right now and thats true but part of that is because Pac-10 teams (our opponents) are getting much better while we are not and we need to get better too but the problem is Big 10 is conference wide with much deeper roots.

Pretty soon with the exception of a handful of players the only players drafted by the NFL from Big 10 schools will be lineman for their power and nomore skilled position players. Its already getting there.

Big 10 players are typically bigger and stronger but slower. With faster players in other conferences gaining enough strength to make the plays happen faster, the difference between conferences are getting larger by the day.

and the reason you can generalize an entire conference is becasue most of their recruits come from the midwest and the roots go back to high school football. I am sure they will adapt themselves soon but they need to do it beofre its toolate

yep we're slow, that's why we handled arkansas last night (yes handled, we weren't lucky because that's called defense, not luck)

I've heard rumors about Urban Cryer being our next coach and I think Columbus would burn before he comes back and coaches us. I personally wouldn't mind it too much but he's too dirty for my liking. Darrell Hazel (spelling?) just took a fulltime coaching job at Akron, Kent St, somewhere I dunno.....and he was supposed to be our coach in waiting. I think he went elsewhere to get head coaching experience in preparation for it all.

But last time I checked Tressel was still our coach so don't worry about it, I think we should be straight.

Good, I cannot stand him. I lived in the same dormitory as he did for a semester and the guy was a complete jerk.

congrats on your win. You KNOW I am not anti buckeye and I am happy for you but come on Houman, it was Arkansas! Plus I am not saying you are dead, I am saying there is a regression. The Big 10 back in 2001 was much stronger as a conference compared to 2010 and OSU is the only team that still has not suffered much. But if they don't change their ways its gonna stop. Just 4 years ago you guys were much stronger compared to the rest of the competition

1) Arkansas had Bama on the ropes and couldnt finish em off and has the "oh so magical" Ryan Mallet in the "glorious" $EC.
2) Big Ten is 13-13 vs the "oh so wonderful" $EC in bowl gams since 2000.
3)OSU is 3rd I believe in active NFL players so I think we're doing ok compared to everyone else.
4) We've taken care of Arkansas, one of the $EC's best teams and Oregon with their "high powered offense"

OSU reported themselves to the NCAA, something many schools would not do *cough cough* $EC. The players will serve their penalty next year by missing out half of the season. I know what you mean, how can they play in the Sugar Bowl when they're in trouble. I agree, they should've been suspended this game and the first couple games of the next season. But instead, they decided to punish them next season. It is what it is. By sitting them out that would make it 6 games. This is football, not basketball, 6 games is a lot! So OSU handled the incident quite well if you think about it.

1) bama is not a national champiosnhip caliber team anymore
2) thats what I am saying 2000-2005 is not the same as 2006-2010. there is a decline but for OSU in particular the decline is very slow compared to the rest of the big10
3) good but how many of them drafted the last few years are NOT linemen? again OSU is doing much better than the rest of the big 10
4) with all due respect when it comes to Oregon in your dreams! AUburn is the only team that can do it. I watched most of oregon games. They are not doing any kind of trickery. They just do a few things but do them VERY well and very very fast. People know whats coming. They just can't stop it. Its kinda like Lebron James.
5) 3 teams so far. don't forget the 4th one in the national championship game and USCheaters would have made it 5 if it weren't for sanctions

I want to get your view on this ShahHouman; of the players that were suspended, how many and who do you think will enter the draft and who will decide to stay at OSU? Im not too keen on draft prospects and all that jazz

I think so. As you know, coach Tressel made them promise that they would come back for them to have played (which I think is genius). "Waaaa but what about terrel? He's such a bad guy waaa" TP said it himself at the post game press conference that he still has a lot to learn on and off the field. Even Boom mentioned somethin afterward about comin back. If they don't they look like idiots and they turned their back on the school and they would not get invited back to watch games, use the facility in the NFL offseason and so on.
So,I think they're comin back.
