South Africa to announce Puma kit deal

Businessday reports that South African Football Association (Safa) CEO Leslie Sedibe confirmed yesterday that sports equipment and apparel manufacturers Puma would be unveiled as the new sponsors of Bafana Bafana, which will be decked out in the new strip when they host Burkina Faso on February 9.

After their 12-year relationship with Adidas ended acrimoniously last month , Safa appeared to be struggling to secure a replacement and faced the embarrassing possibility of having to go back to the German company for a jersey handout before the Burkina Faso encounter. But Sedibe insisted yesterday that this would not happen.

"The preferred technical sponsor for the senior national team is Puma and negotiations are at an advanced stage," he said.

Adidas extend Spain Kit Deal Until 2018

Adidas and the RFEF (Spanish Football Federation) are proud to announce the extension of their sponsorship agreement, extending the relationship until December 2018. The extension agreement comes as a result of the close relationship between both parties over the last 30 years and successes achieved together – most notably with the Spanish team winning the UEFA EURO 2008™ as well as the 2010 FIFA World Cup™.

"We are very proud and excited to announce the extension of our successful partnership with the Spanish Football Federation RFEF. adidas is the global leader in football and Spain is currently the strongest team in the world which makes this partnership a perfect fit," said Herbert Hainer, CEO of the adidas Group.

I don't get why Iran never gets Nike/Adidas sponsors- is it because they're an American brand?

Yeah, most likely. Another factor is that Iran has no proper regulations against counterfeit and knocked off goods. If Adidas would provide IFF with jersies and technical material - they would not make much money from selling these shirts to consumers in Iran because people would buy fake shirts instead of the original ones.

The problem is that Adidas always overworks Madrid's kits. Look at Milan's kits, they usually always turn out great because a classical design is kept every year.
