How fantastic does Hernandez @ 7 million look now?
Both Torres and Carrol are overrated with this price tag.
Seriously Torres hasn't been himself since this injury.
Chelsea took a big risk IMO.

If I was liverpool fan though, I would never forgive Torres for going to the rival club.
but lets face it, Liverpool need the money and chelsea was willing to pay it.
      Suarez is pretty good.

9 in 22 games, which is acceptable.

Villa still cost a little more because his contract was 4 years, Andy Carrol's contract is 5 and a half years.
Still huge money for a guy who hasn't proven to be worth that much...

18 titles, five European Cups - is Chelsea a bigger club?

I've cried a lot in the last 3 years.....you can see from my username and post history, I idiolised the man and now I realize he was lying all this time about not playing for another English team, being, a red etc etc.

anyways, Fernando Torres is history now and he didn't win a thing with us, though we came pretty close.

now we have 2 absolute nutters in attack, a biting Uruguayan, and a crazy Englishmen, this is the start of a new era...the Spanish era is truly over now.

I just hope Pepe remains loyal, he's never sulked and acts like captain, and normally I'd trust him more, but this saga showed me don't trust anyone.

can't wait for summer........John Henry made Red Sox champions after 80 years, he means business !!

                  Love live the king!!

You just can't expect a player like Torres to stay in a team for years that doesn't win any trophies and becomes worse every year, thats why he left his hometown club Atletico Madrid, he wasn't going anywhere with them.
Now with Chelsea he's got good chance of silverware every season because its a more ambitious club than Liverpool.

Arsenal or Man Utd would be the best team for him, unfortunately they wouldn't pay that amount for him. He is too skilled for Chelsea.

Im sure you havent watched him play. The guy has speed, accuracy and is very athletic. He knows how to score and how to expose himself to goal opportunities. He can take long range shots and knows how to score with his head. Adding to above he is 22 years old which makes him worth every pound.

Shayan, I kind of agree with your sentiments, but to hand in a transfer request with 3 days to go and put the club under such pressure was nothing but classless. It's not like Chelsea have a shot at winning anything in the next 6 months (10 pts behind in PL, Torres can't play in FA Cup, and let's not kid ourselves with CL)...he could have easily done it in summer, and I am sure 50% of this complains wouldn't be in place.

and from what I read, Carroll has scored 5 of his 11 goals with right foot, 4 with his left foot, and 2 with his head...not to mention he has a lot of assists for New Castle, the potential in him is absolutely massive and he just turned 22, just down to Kenny to do what he did with Shearer with him.

just read he won't be fit for the game vs Chelsea on sunday and is expected back in 2 weeks.....wondering if Torres will play, I smell blood

Its impossible that they don't make him play on that game you know how much money that is for the media and specially PL , just the fact to torres playing that game against his former club !

Just look at another example that happened with Daren bent last week , from sunderland to aston villa and his first game was against them and he actually scored , and that was just daren bent so imagine what would they do for torres

Torres said last night that he'd like to score on sunday, but I am reading twitter rumours that Chelsea FC don't want him to start/play as it's too intense and the psychology behind it could damage both clubs....guess they are afraid LFC players will be too rough on him

                                Torres:

August 3rd 2010: “This is the best club in the country so the targets and expectations are always high. I am really happy to be back, really happy to stay with all my team-mates. My commitment and loyalty to the club and to the fans is the same as it was on my first day when I signed. I felt at home from the first day, I feel the fans love me and everyone knows I am really happy here and really happy to play at Anfield.”

5 months later, Fernando Torres hands in a transfer request and is in talks to join Chelsea.
