Serie A: What an absolute Joke

AS Roma and Milan both spanked at home and they actually deserved what they got. I mean, NOT SCORING on Tottenham's defense is hard, they keep clean sheets once every 2 months and yet Milan were cowardly and Spurs beat them without starting their best 2 players (Bale & Modric).

and then Roma comedy. I know they are ownership problems like we used to do, but to get beaten at home and concede 3 is just sad. I rate Shakhtar very highly though.

in Europa League, all of their teams are eliminated (Juve with no wins in 6), but Napoli who qualified thanks to a last second Cavani header and yet this Napoli team who sits second in Serie A, was dominated by a negative and sh!t Liverpool team in EL while Napoli had all their first teamers on and Liverpool their bench.

the verdict? Calciopolli effect is still there, the league is shit and Italians have no idea how to deal with Pace.

Finally, justice will be served and they'll lose their 4th CL spot to Bundesliga.

Inter vs Bayern could be very crucial, and I fancy Bayern. Inter's defense is garbage without Samuel and Lucio...Pazzini can't play and he is cup-tied and Milito injured (well he is horrible these days anyways)...so all the responsibility on poor Eto'o, while Bayern are back in form with Robben firing.

    Bundesliga >>> Serie A.

Premierleague, of course the best without a shadow of doubt

    Serie A > EPL,
Serie A > IPL (believe it or not),
    Serie A > Serie B,
    Serie B > Serie C,

no arguments there. SerieA always been a joke to watch, its always been boring, look at the turnout at Rome in this important CL game. the stadium was empty lol

how the fuk can Milan lead this league when they get owned Spurs at home? answer: the league is so shit. end of story. (spurs is a quality side with decent players and shock results happen, but this wasn't shock, spurs actually dominated and played way better than a slow boring milan team, deserved to win).

I can't watch any serieA game, even the Milan derby, I stopped watching after half an hour. so cautious and slow. good for making you sleep at night though

I think La Liga is a joke, no thrill or what so ever.. Only about 2 teams and before half the sesion is played u always know who the winner is... (real or barca)

Serie A is also boring, only defence defence defence..

Premier League is absolut the best league, and nowadays its not only about the big four

            MONEY TALKS!

sure make super teams out of english, spanish and german teams and you will win, yes serie A and italian economy are going thru tough times. Thanks for reminding us genius

but still there is more competition in serie A than any other league, just look at the table...while in EPL, La liga and bundesliga there are 2 teams usually that dominate and no one can beat them.

and funny enough, an italian team won CL last year Milan won in 2005 and 2007...sure inter had only few italians but still an italian team that got strong cuz of serie A and they never ass raped teams like big teams in other leagues do, they normally won with a margin of 1 goal

by the way this comes from a liverpool fan that stole the CL with an offside goal and bad penalty call (foul outside the box) in that 3-3 milan final

pull up the highlights....and u got ur ass kicked the year after

and still the same guy that said its a shame if spain walks away with World cup this last summer

              biased people are so funny

there is no denying that serie A's big teams are way weaker than EPL or la liga's big teams, but as a whole i think serie A is a superior league to both of them, the only problem is the poor attendances.

ITALY: milan 7 Cl TROPHIES INTER 3 JUVE 2 TOTAL OF 12
ENGLAND: liverpool 5 manu 3.. nottingham forest? (beats me) 2 aston villa 1 total of 11
SPAIN: RM 9 barca 3 total of 12
germany: BM :4 hamburg 1 dortmund 1 total of 6

germany has the least.. italy & spain tied for first.. are u kidding me? italy is down now but will be back up.. and the ties are not done.. u will look like a huge moron if milan or roma come back and go to the next round.. ur a liverpool fan you should know that when milan wants revenge.. they get it

2005 was the historical game against Liverpool who went from 0-3 to 3-3 and liverpool won after penaltys. And they met again 2007 when Liverpool won 2-1

                      bunch of bitter people here.

We are talking about the quality of Serie A. ATM.

Serie A was the greatest league in the world in 90s, no one will ever deny that. but at the moment it's just wank. talk about being blind to criticism.

When Premier League teams made CL, look like FA Cup in 3-4 years prior to last year....and only the individual brilliance of Kaka in 2007 and Mourinho last year won Serie A the title.

Just see the empty stadiums every sunday and that's part of the problem.

Quality of top teams in Serie A is much lower than other top leagues, and the fact that Spurs school Milan and Inter....or Napoli's first team gets schooled by Liverpool's bench...or Roma can't compete with Shakhtar in Rome is a proof. Not to mention JUVENTUS winless in Europe in 6 games against the likes of Salzburg and Lech Poznan.

It's been 5 years since Calciopolli, and recoveries should have been started by now, but looks bleak for now. just like what happened to English teams after the 5 year ban in the end of 1980s.

and Ekbatan, what does me being a Liverpool fan have to do making a thread about Serie A? surely if I want to be a troll or wum, I'll make a thread about how fat Rooney is and how sh!t Everton is, or etc etc., not a genuine discussion about a league which used to be the best in the world .

if you want to talk about 'pool vs Milan finals....if it's only about which team played better, then you should switch the championships, since Milan had a much better team than us in 2005 (I am sure we didn't force their players to have champagne at HT, and didn't foce Gattuso to push Gerrard in the box, or didn't force Shevchenko to miss from 1 meter in extra time), but in 2007, we actually played much better and terrorized them for most of the match, but Pippo's class and clinical finishing won them the cup. it evens out, that's cup competitions for you

what you dont get is MONEY makes a huge difference, look at the players PRIVATE ownership gets to EPL; a team like tottenham has way more players than napoli, roma, juventus, palermos (totti hardly even plays)

a teams like JUVENTUS is publicly traded, they cant just throw money at top players, they have stocks so its not like ur liverpool or man u or chelsea when they do bad for half a season, go and throw 80 mil at players...juve has been trying to rebuild but its hard and not to mention how many injuries have occured

what you also dont get about attendance is not that easy to purchase tickets for serie A, thats something they need to fix. You need to show id for everyone ur buying it for and this complicated process, u cant just put ur credit card online and buy like 10 tickets...that and how expensive they are compared to how bad italian economy has been

then lets talk about the NON-EU rule serie A has or the fact that you have to be 18 to play....yes these are things they need to fix and thats whats affecting them...so things are deeper than a few results that ur using as your measuring stick of making conclusions....u wanna talk about results, how bout no english teams in last 4 of CL last year?

whatever it is serie A will be back, just cuz they have a slump doesnt mean u should all gang up on it every few months and throw results around, i dont go around throwing stats around every time an italian team does good

i agree, italian league is garbage these days, it used to be good, but it's so slow and boring compared to the other big 3. also i want to state that inter won CL because of Jose and his tactics, I don't think it will happen again. I doubt two of the three Serie A team will go up, possibly one, and I'm hoping it's not Inter, not because I think they can win it again, but because I love bayern.

From a purely objective point of view, the Italian league looks like this, 7 man defense, lob the ball up the middle of the pitch. La Liga - short passing, quick movement, Bundesliga - short passes, play up the flanks, EPL - brute force less finesse. Basically, Italian soccer has not changed with the times, they are still trying to play a long ball sort of game, much like our backwards TM.
