Rezazadeh has the olympic record I believe, but not the world record. Taranenko set his in 1988 long before Rezazadeh came along but it was not in an olympic competition. There is also claim that the snatch record was set in 1987 to be 216 kg:

as far as my sexy brain serves me Rezazadeh held both the olympic record as well as the world record.... anyway if this chap has weighted 266, then it highr than Rezazadeh's record.

Because they didn't have strict doping controls back then, Taranenko's record isn't counted anymore. Only records that are still valid are the ones that were set after the new rules of doping control were taking into practice. Hence Rezazadeh has both the world and the Olympic record. He lost his snatch world record to the very same Salimi though.
And I'm pretty sure of this, if the mustache of amoo was allowed to lift, it would crush all the records.

They did have doping tests in 1988, anyone recall that Canadian 100-m sprinter (Ben Johnson) who was disqualified in the Seoul 1988 olympics?

Records aside, there are at east two lifters who took up 266 kg. Taranenko is one of them, he has also 265.5 kg with plenty of video footage available.

Check out http://totalphysiqueonline.com/2008/...nko-revisited/ -- The guy apparently even lifted 270 kg but that is not a registered competition result.

That's strange, because Salimi did break his record just recently.
