Well having their offer rejected was a slap in the face, I think a quick decision too choose Mclaren who without a doubt would've said yes was just to sway attention away from Scolari saying no. Mclaren is good coach though, but if you can't improve on Sven don't change him.

McClaren has been in the England coaching setup under Sven for quite some time, he knows the England setup well and so do the players he coached under Sven's guidance et al. At club level he has proven more than capable as Middlesbrough manager for years, and looks set to make Boro get the UEFA Cup a few days later in the final.

All in all, a good decision and this would satisfy the traditionalists who were hell bent upon the FA acquiring the services of a British manager to replace Sven.

Me too soniq, probly cuz Mclaren F1 is a really nice car. But as for the coach I never heard of him and I also think Sir Alex shouldve gotten the job...he should for sure sometime in his coaching career.

Well i suppose (considering what the public wanted) McClaren was the best the FA could have done. i'd of preferred Alardyce if it wasnt for his lack of international football.

I feel like I have missed something. Is the England's head coach being replaced? if not, who is?

do you think england done well under seven? i dont think so! McClaren is the same type of coach as seven he will keep beckham as capitan. i dont think he is donewell for Middlesbrough he has only one carling cup with the money they spend they should challenge for europe.. but they are at bottom of the table.....
