Am I the only one rooting for Dallas out of these 4 teams?
I hope they'll go and win it all, players like Kidd, Nowitzki and Stojakovic all deserve a ring. Time is of the essence for this team, while the other 3 teams will most likely be playing at this stage many more times the upcoming years.

QUATION: Did you guys see how the greatest executive in the history of the NBA, Jerry West, joined the Warriors front office team? Things just keep getting better and better after this new ownership group took over last summer. Now I hope they hire Mike Brown as the next coach. I wouldn't mind Brian Shaw either if they don't get Brown.

West did not build the WC Lakers. In fact he took over as GM of the Lakers after they already won a title and after Magic was drafted and AFTER the somehow won the lottery that year (1982), which allowed him to draft Worthy.
After that he brought in A.C. Green and Kurt Rambis. He traded Norm Nixon for Byron Scott (a questionable move, at best)...but for the most part, dude was blessed with KAJ, Magic and James Worthy in a winning system.
Once Kareem and Magic retired, the great J.West could do anything. He still had worthy, but somehow, the genius couldn't build any sort of team around him. He drafted NVE and Eddie Jones, all nice players, but somehow the WC GM couldnt get back to that level for 10 years (every other GM in the league gets fired)....anyone wonder why? That's right, all his title teams were already built for him.
Now the best young center inthe entire league becomes a FA. The salary cap rules didn't count back then and Shaq wanted to be a movie star...the great J.West only had to CTC to make it happen. The real cuop was the drafting of Kobe Bryant. Even that hadlittle to do with West. Kobe said " I onl wantot play for the LAL" ok, West, come up with a deal to get the kid. He gave up very little, just Vlade who didn't matter due to Shaq, amd got Kobe. Here's another title team, again sort of falling into his lap.
When he left the Lakers, he hadhis title teams, but had done absolutely nothing to set them up for the future. Harper, Fox, Kobe, Grant, Horry Shaq were all nice players, but were all heading towards retirement.
Then he joins the Grizzlies. His first big move, drafting Drew Gooden - who played the same position as the team's best player. He then traded Drew Gooden to Orl for Mike Miller - a nice player, who played the exact same position as the team's 2nd best player (Battier). Then he went on to trade J.Williams for another nice player - Jones; drafted a bunch of players who have done nothing - and NEVER found a player good enough to play next to Gasol. did not sign an impace FA, no player refused to play for their selecting team because they only wanted to play in Memphis.
I'll give him credit for hiring Hubie, but that credit is washed away for the crap he just pulled with Fratello. Gasol oes to play in Europe, breaks his hand, the abject failure of West to accumulate any depth causesa ton of losses, and Fratello is to blame?
I'll credit West with the following good moves: opening up the bank for Shaq, finding Vlade, hiring Hubie. Aside from that, he has been extremely average and resting on his name.

Do you want him to throw in a free lap dance a long with all those moves too?
