I really liked that Barca made Eric Abidal the honorary captain so that he lifts the trophy first...because Abidal was recently battling cancer. A very classy act by Barca

If any team falls behind against barca they can consider the game lost, it forces them to attack and though man u was successfull in getting 1-1 they did not play defensively enough to stop barca's onslaught. Once again a teriffic performance by barca a much deserved trophy, hopefully more to comeComment

Evra is clearly not himself, his positioning was below par. Ferdinand and Vidic made some crucial tackles in the penalty area. Evra's 'handball' was matched by one of the Barca player's 'handball' so no complaints there.
Barca pressured well in midfield. Every time Valencia had the ball, there was at least 2 Barca players in the vicinity so he had no space to run at Abidal. United lost the ball quite often in their own half because of this. This was the main reason why the tactic of playing Hernandez didn't work out, they never had the space to pick him out. United simply didn't have enough chances to score as they kept losing the ball in midfield.
United pressed well in the first 15min but seemed to run out of steam. You just can't keep doing that and last the full 90min. After that we slid off a bit and tried to contain them. The great goals by Messi and Villa perhaps could've been stopped by having 5 men in the midfield and pressing when the ball was in United's half.
As we saw tonight, with the current players in the squad (which have performed magnificently this season), 442 against this Barca side just can't do it, but I would rather play a 442 with the intent of attacking Barcelona than playing a 451 and losing by the same margin.
Barca were top class tonight. Kept possession well, pressed well, and did very well in nullifying the threats posed to them by this United side. Well played.
