Gold medal in Asian Games men's 800m
Fars News: The total number of Iran's gold medals rose to 19 after Iran's team of athletes attending the 16th edition of the Asian Games underway in Guangzhou, China, won three more medals on Thursday. Sajjad Moradi won gold in the men's 800m. He clocked 1min 45.55sec, with Iraq's Adnan Taees Akkar taking silver (1:45.88) and Qatar's Musaab Bala claiming bronze. In another development at the Asian competitions, Iranian athlete Fatemeh Chalaki won the bronze medal of the women's -55kg karate competitions of the Asian Games. The 16th Asian Games started in Guangzhou, China, on November 12 and will end on November 27. Iran is placed fourth with a total of 53 medals. So far in the medal tally, China is leading with a total of 375 medals (180 gold medals), South Korea is in the second place with 217 medals (72 gold medals), and Japan stands in the third spot with 193 medals (39 gold medals).
