Anderlecht have continued to boost their attacking ranks as they prepare to defend the Belgian Pro League title, with the 2010/11 champions confirming the signing of left-sided wing-back Behrang Safari from Basel.
Safari has been given a great deal of stability, securing a contract with Anderlecht for the next three years, the club said on its official website.
The deal follows last week's announcement that midfielder Hernan Losada has left the club, and Safari's arrival will give coach Ariel Jacobs a potent alternative.
The Swedish international has shown the ability to adapt to both defensive and attacking roles on the left side of play and general manager Herman Van Holsbeeck is aware of the strong presence the 26-year-old can bring to the squad.
"Behrang Safari is an asset for RSCA. His experience is important for many young players from the RSCA first team," he said.
"Safari is the first of the various fortifications that the club has in mind."
Safari will be hoping for some positive form in Sweden's final Euro 2012 qualifiers to boost his chances of selection at Anderlecht. - Goal
