Steven Beitashour had a great Mahdavikia-esque assist in an MLS game yesterday.

I think that is his real name. I heard he is of Iranian-Assyrian decent, hence his last name.

And yes, I have friends who were born in Iran to American parents who have Iranian names, Parviz and Melika. I also have a friend whose parents visited Iran once and named their daughter Asal.

I am very close with Steven and his family and as far as I know, both of his parents were born in Iran and, along with Steven, have Iranian citizenship.
