If Andriy Shevchenko wasn't already a living legend at Dynamo Kiev before Sunday's match with Metalist, he has probably gone up a notch in the estimations of the Ukrainian clubs supporters. First off, the former Chelsea and AC Milan striker notched his 78th league goal for Dynamo, in their 1-1 draw with Metalist, taking him up to 10th in the all-time list in the Ukraine Premier League. (Incidentally, Sergei Rebrov leads this particular ranking on 123 goals.)
Then at the end of the match, Shevchenko saved a Kiev fan from being arrested after he had run on to the Lobanovsky Stadium.
With the fan being carted off by Kiev officials, Shevchenko stepped in, gave the supporter a hug and his shirt and ensured that he would be allowed back into the stands. The Stadium erupted in unison at the gesture from their legendary hitman.
Ultimate class by Shevchenko, great respect for this act even though the guy shouldn't have ran on the pitch in the first place.
