again, nobody denies their weakness in defense, but u cant expect them not to concede any goal at all.

and for all the stars and potence they have upfront, they should still be winning insptie of conceding 1 goal every now and then otherwise they are not championship material which they proved.

also you have to acknowledge that uruguay is a well organised team with one of the strongest defenses in world football. they finished 4th in the world cup. you can't ever expect anything against a team like uruguay.

off topic.. uruguay is the best football nation in the world per capita. for a nation of just 2million to produce the players and achievements in football that they have done is outstanding . Goes to show that football is a game of quality and not quantity.

even though they haven't achieved much in recent history they still have been a competitive team which has qualified for world cups and done well in copa. last copa they made the semi's and lost to brazil.

bahrain hasn't even qualified for the world cup.

exactly, bahrain has never achieved anything! which is why when they reach the play offs of worlducp twice (although screwed it up), or when they reach the top 4 of Asian cup, its considered a big achievement for them and history for asian football! and then they fade away when their golden generation retire..

uruguay is same story, every once in a few decades, they have a golden
generation coming together, doing something noticeable and then fade away.
but the difference is, bahrain doing something on asian level is noticeable, uruguay doing something on international level is something noticeable.

they havent beaten paraguay in the final yet to be better than paraguay if u want to use copa america as a measuring scale.
why not say they are the best team in south america? they achieved more than brazil and argentina, both in the worldcup and the copa america! so why not the best south american team?

in the end, it all comes down to how we see, and more importantly, how we want to see it.

for me, uruguay is a good team, but teams like paraguay and chile arent any worse. it depends on the draw u get in a tournament, the fitness situation of ur team and the opponents team and ofcoures, the incidents that happen during the game.

but one thing is for sure, ur obssession for one hit wonders and inconsistent never seems to end
