Thought I would post it here because there were speculations about him returning to coach one of our clubs, but mods feel free to move to a different forum if need be.

Good luck to my all-time favorite Team Melli coach.
If Queiroz can achieve half of what Ivankovic did, then I'll be satisfied.

well, if quieroz's team gets grouped in a 4 team group of 2 strong, 2 mediocre teams ... where two of them advance directly and the third still has a chance of qualifying ... I think not only quieroz, but many others would be able to pull this off

in your opinion will asia's final grouping be something like that this time around?

He coached two clubs since leaving in Iran and won as many league champonships. Would be a major surprise if he could overcome Al Hilal and Al Ittihad to make it three...

                      No chance Martin-Reza Jan!
I know Al-Ittfiaq pretty well since two of their last coaches in the past 4 years have been romanians.

The first one (Ioan Andone) actually eliminated Sepahan in the group-stages of the Asian Champions League, while the second one (Ion Marin) helped qualified the team for next season's Asian Champions League.

Al-Ittifaq is a very small club in Saudi Arabia, one of those which doesn't have a BIG WEALTHY Prince behind it.

Instead, they have a board of directors and get their VERY SMALL BUDGET (4-5 million dollars per year) from local authorities, etc.

Al-Ittifaq, in terms of money, is poorer than many iranian clubs.
But, they have decent facilities, training grounds, recovery center.

At the end of the day though, its impossible for them to challenge the likes of Al-Ittihad (they will win the Saudi league in the coming season) and Al-Hilal who have virtually unlimited budgets.

                      Aziz,

                      Thats the problem.
You THINK many others will be able to pull off what Ivankovic pulled off.

                      You know whats MY PROBLEM?
Despite many people like yourself claiming others could have, would have pulled off what Ivankovic pulled off, in reality, no one has pulled anything off since 2006 til now.

All we have actually pulled off is minimizing Ivankovic's achievments.
Of course, its always easy to be all talk and no action.
Thats what all 3rd world countries are good at...

Just checked the standings and branko and al ettifaq are topping the table after 9 rounds. They are still unbeaten and already beat al ittihad for instance. It would really be amazing if he won a third championship with the third team he is coaching since leaving Iran.
