2011 Asian Men's Volleyball Championship

Its being held in Iran.
The winner of this will go to the 2011 FIVB Men's World Cup.
I believe it also sets up seeding for the 2012 Olympic qualifiers that won't be taking place till June 2012.
Volleyball has a extremely difficult qualification process, especially from Asia. Even more difficult than basketball or football.

Iran will be playing Sri Lanka in the quarter finals.
Biggest shock of the tournament so far, India beat Japan.

Iran beat Sri Lanka and will face South Korea in the semi-finals. Besides Iran, South Korea has looked to be the best team in the tournament.

Agreed, but its actually getting coverage right now because the tournament is in Tehran.

Iran has now qualified at a minimum for the Olympic qualifiers. If Iran beats China tomorrow we'll also have qualified for the World Cup.
