The problem is the behavior of the men during football games. As you read about the derby, there were major security issues and many fans from both sides were injured. Basketball and volleyball hasn't reached the same level or popularity of football. Once the men finally behave and act mature during football events, I won't be surprised to see women in the stadium. Plus, the stadium for basketball and volleyball are much smaller and easier to supervise which allows security to make sure women are not harassed and safe from the men's hooliganism.

This is why? Not IR's misogynism?

men behave that way cuz women arent around. lol
it will never change and will actually get worse if u always keep it to men only...if they allow women, then the men will behave more

iran will have problems with harassment with women for a long time until premarital sex and premarital non sexual relations are legal. until then you'll see sexual harassment. when i was there, i saw plenty of this. It's unfortunate because I too wish to see women in the football stadium soon, insh'Allah. However, if men can't behave correctly when the women are around, I fear for the safety of them. It's the whole dogma of gender relations as men try to court women and the latter try to uphold their and their family's reputations (which I believe is bogus).

Couldn't agree more. Well said. Lets hope it changes where we can see men and women doing all sorts of things together.

                    thanks,
see, i have no problem with islam, unlike many members, yet i do believe that iran is making a big mistake with the separation of genders

loool, as if harassment is only in iran?!?!? as if open sexual relationship will fix all the social problems in iran. people in iran are as horny as anyone else in the world, they are having more sexual relationship as anyone else in the world, more than you and me in the west. that is for sure.

i am sorry, but that was the most naive statement from anyone i have heard in a long time. you need to come to mexico to see sexual harassment!! i guess premarital sex is also illegal in mexico also.

^and mexico has a repressive government like iran, where men and women can't legally hold hands in public unless married. im not saying they don't but its not allowed.

^^so if people are allowed to hold hand in public reduces the harassment?!?!? i wondering why there are so much work place harassment laws in north america. i guess people are not allow to hold hand in public either!!!

do not get me wrong man, i am being sarcastic with you cause your arguments about harassment are not a problem in iran but in US and many other counties regardless of their form of government. some places more and some places less, but it exists ALL over the world.
