A person gets attacked you cant expect him to stay calm and not hit back, but the ref was just going by protocol so i'm not surprised.

Wow, I've never seen anything like this before.

This is a tough call for the referee. On one hand, the goalie has a right to defend himself from a pitch intruder. It's a very dangerous situation and the invader could even be armed.

However, I think the goalie out did his "self defense" narrative when he kicked the invader a few times after he was already on the ground and being apprehended by security. I think he went a bit overboard.

Now, did his over-reaction warrant a red-card? I say no. But I see where the referee is coming from.

the keeper behaved like an animal, regardless of what happened before.

he shouldnt have been red carded during the game. the judicial committee of the ehredivise should have banned him for the rest of the season, afterwards.

today I read that the judicial committee actually withdrew the red card.
so the goali got away with nothing!

As for this case: It's been decided that the game has to be replayed from the very start and with the gk able to play. Ajax will have to pay a 10.000 euro fine and without any spectators; the spectators will not get their money back either.
