No doubt one of the greatest managers ever Pep Guardiola ! I think his time off is timed perfectly to give Ferguson one more season at Man United before Pep steps in as his replacement. Sir Alex has praised Guardiola on more than on one occasion and Man Utd's philosophy is on par with the Spaniard's. Thats my prediction but you always teams like Chelsea and City that will step and try to win him over with money. noway he will go to Italy , his tactics would never fit in Italy's defensive criteria.

There is no way he is going to Milan, cause if he goes to milan they will have to get rid of their best player Zlatan Ibrahimovic

The man is smart. He sees clearly that his tactics and style is not working in la liga anymore as barca is loosing its edge and more and more teams in la-liga is reading theire game and making it harder and harder for barca to win.

So before its too late he will move to another league and introduce his tactics there and probably win a few chmpionships within that league.

One thing that was very surprising for me, specialy in the game against RM and chelsea was the lack of creativity and change in playing style on the part of barca after playing the same game over and over without any success!

I think his players and maybe he himself can not and do not know how to play differently once their "ticky_taka" style does not produce!

Messi always does the same things so do Inesta and Xavi and other players and that makes it easy for the opponents to read their hand and control them, besides they were hurting badly in defence.

You are both right and wrong. You are right in that Barca don't know, or more correctly don't want to play any other style than what they do best. You are wrong about other teams finally figuring out how to stop them. It's been out in the open for a long time and most teams have known about it, because Barca has been playing like this for a long time as it's their club philosophy. Other teams have always tried. Mourinho, the special one himself, has tried 15 times (4 with Inter + 11 with Real) in the last 3 years and only succeeded 3 times! 3 out of 15!!! Sir Alex Ferguson has tried twice with no success and he's had plenty of time to study them. Chelsea on the other hand has always troubled Barca because of their extreme physical, almost on the verge of brutality, gameplay. The real difference this year has been something else.
                      - It's very difficult to stay motivated after winning so much as Pep has done with Barca (13 out of 16 titles) and even more difficult to motivate and create real hunger in your players!
                      - The injuries in almost all key areas have been very long and while Barca didn't do enough purchases at the start of the season to cover them, relying too much on their phenomenal youth teams feeding players to their senior squad, the latest crop of players haven't delivered the same quality as in recent years!
                      - All teams and all players, even the stars have dips in form. Unlucky for Barca most of the star players, collectively have had their dip in the last few weeks. They missed 8 clear cut goalscoring opportunities against Chelsea in London, which can hardly be attributed to bad luck alone. Messi has been looking tired, unmotivated and a mere shadow of himself in the recent weeks. Xavi has been playing half injured and his future replacement Fabregas has looked out of it for almost 2 months! Iniesta was the only one that has almost retained his usual self. Add to that the absence of Villa due to injury for most of the season, the lost form of Pedro who was the revelation of last season and further back the ever ongoing injuries of Pique and the aging Puyol!

I assure you, had Pep the desire and motivation to stay and had he gained back his main injured players in form, plus the addition of some good purchases during the transfer season , he would have conquered many more trophies with the same tactics and the same style of play.

HOMER: Son, when you participate in sporting events, it's not whether
you win or lose.... it's how drunk you get.

He seemed burned out (based on his mannerism in his recent games and news conferences). I hope he takes some time off and comes back (wherever that is going to be) better than ever.

ya i think it was more of him getting tired of the whole thing. Sometimes coaches need time to get away from the pressure. I have a feeling he'll be back at barca in the future.

ye in my opinion he is just tired, he will take a year or two of and come back.. this is why i think they put tito as the new coach, so in a year when guardiola wants to come back they can work together again as coach and assistant
