Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Thursday that he wanted to attend the Olympic Games in London but the UK has problem with his presence at the event.
"I would like to be among to our young athletes at the 2012 Olympics but UK has a problem with this," Ahmadinejad said during a meeting with Iranian athletes who had qualified for the Olympics.
So far some 50 Iranian athletes have qualified to participate in the Olympics in several sports, including weightlifting, cycling, wrestling, shooting, track and field, and table tennis.
The president attended opening ceremony of Paralympic Games in 2008 in Beijing.
Ahmadinejad did not specify whether he had officially requested to attend the games or if Britain had refused him entry.
