And when you talk about TOP leagues....what did i really leave out? la liga and bundesliga? like i said go ahead and name the coaches of what you think are top leagues and the coaches that won it. and if FA cup is garbage then so must be many other competitions in europe. So what your arguing actually makes no sense....name your top prestiges competions and then name the coaches so we have a clear understanding of your point.
I dont get why some people on this board PMS and get their panties in a bunch everytime someone mentions something successful an italian team or coach did. facts are facts and give credit where its due...i always do even if i hate the team or player. Maybe u guys should also learn to not be so biased. Its ok to hate a certain team or style of football but to come up with excuses and discredit things is just childish and get u no credibility.
I'm sorry if my tone made it look like I was attacking you or the thread. Re reading my posts it seems like I may have been a bit aggressive but I wasnt trying to be. What I mean is that as I understood from your original post, though I may be wrong, is that its been a succesful year for italian coaches and so this means Italian coaches are great and for this reason we should get one next. And you showed which trophies were won by Italian coaches. My point is just because a manager is of a certain nationality does not mean that it is a success for the manager of that nation. Look at Serie A, Conte won it with Juventus and he deserves due credit for being a good coach. But does this mean that its a great success for Italian coaches in general? Look at the coaches in Seria A this year, out of the top 8 teams only one of them is not Italian, so how can it be a success that an Italian coach has won when the odds of their being an Italian coach winning is almost 100%. You wouldnt say its been a great year for German football because a German team won the Bundesliga because every team in the Bundesliga is German. So you cant say its an achievemtn for an italian coach to win the seria when pretty much every single Serie team has an Italian coach.

Now look at the premier league, the only top teams who can compete for the title are ManU ManCity Totenham Arsenal Liverpool Chelsea who have Scottish, Italian, English, French, Scottish, Italian coaches respectively. So would it be fair to look at the manager of the winner of this league and to conclude that their nationality of coaches are better than say German coaches or Dutch coaches when there isnt a single dutch or german coach managing a premier league team trying to win the title.
Having said this i do believe mancini is an awesome manager.

I can imagine what I am saying will possibly not be very clear cos I am rushing it as I have revision to do but hopefully I get my opinion across. As for defining prestigious trophies, I would go champions league first, then the premiership serie a la liga and bundesliga. Then the dutch league and the french league. Then domestic cups in england spain germany italy and then all other cups and leagues.

there are only a handful of teams that have chances at CL and domestic league and he tried 3 out of the 4 top leagues...the 4th league is bayern and no other team in bundesliga eve does shit...so unless if he goes to bayern, he has no other team to go to.
He's just waiting for Sir Alex to retire.

Exactly my thoughts! I think he signed on with Madrid to have a long-term job, bc you can't really guess when Sir Alex will retire, but whenever he does, I'm sure Man U will pay the buy-out clause on his contract and bring him as the replacement. Meanwhile, Mourinho will have a chance to win several titles with a Pep-less Barca, and a pretty solid Madrid team

I think in the last 5-6 years, the Bundesliga has began to achieve more parity. Maybe, in European competitions like CL or Europa League, Bayern is the only team that effectively competes against other teams, but the other teams have steadily improved. Dortmund, through their coach Klopp and their league and domestic cup domination the last two years, showed that there are other good teams in Germany. Teams like Schalke, Wolfsburg, and Hamburg can also give teams a good challenge. The Bundesliga only has Bayern argument doesn't hold much weight anymore, just like the argument that states that Italy plays defensively. Also, it seems like the only way a team can beat a possession oriented team like Barca or Bayern is through a defensive, physical, counter-attack (maybe not to the extent of NZ or NK) strategy- look at how Inter and Chelsea beat Barca in the CL, and how Chelsea won in the CL final.

The difference is Conte's win was something special; Undefeated season, something like 43 games, his first year as a top flight coach AND not having that many world class players. So Maybe i should've explained why I put him there, but You cant deny thats something special in ANY league.
