Italy at MOST is a average team this year. After a ITALIAN coach ****ed up England for four years, the fans really didn't care about England this year nor did they think they could even make it out of the group stages and considering England got scored on 3 (4) times in the group stages by crappy teams just shows how mediocre this Italy team is. No denying Italy deserved to win and justice was served but don't get your hope high dude and ease up the bs!

They failed to qualify for the Euros for the first time in like 15 years !! Capello came in and took England to the world cup and they were one of the first teams to qualify. They went to the world cup and were knocked out by Germany.. Then he qualified England for the 2012 Euro's without a single loss in qualifying before resigning.... He also has the highest win percentage of any coach in England's history so please don't talk like England were something special before he came along and destroyed them, if anything he improved them.

Come on now, this Italy team is one of the best and most exciting I've seen in years. If you watched the 1st game against Spain you would see they outplayed them for most of that game and created much better chances and were unlucky not to win. I've never been an Italy fan but they've won me over this Euro's, they are far from Average they are a great team. Average teams are Sweden, Czech Republic and you can even throw England in there. A team like England doesn't park the bus and play for penalties against an average team.

...All i want to know is when was the last time any of you saw italy play defensive boring football?? It has been many years that i cant even remember the last match they did that. Please name me a game and date that you saw such anti football and ill shut up. Fact is most of you either dont watch or are in denial that italy has been playing beautiful attacking football for some years now...

Yes, Italy had a lot of possession and shots on target, e.t.c....but they failed to do anything in 2 hours of football and probably would have failed to score if they continued playing for another 10 hours.

The problem here is that Italy play football at a very slow, walking pace. Their gameplan just seems to be, pass it to Pirlo, Pirlo hits a 40 yard pass to the strikers/wingers. Now if any other team continually did that for the whole game (like, say England), everybody would be out of their seats screaming that the team plays "longball football" or "Route 1 football"...

So yes, Italy did dominate the game but they did not make use of their possession, and also it wasn't exactly a dazzling display of attacking intent from Italy. More that they took advantage of Hodgson's ultra-defensive setup and the time/space and respect that the English showed them on the pitch.

Germany (or even Portugal) are a far more entertaining team to watch in terms of attacking intent and variety of play.

No one said England was anything special before he came, the reason Capello came to England was for a revolution in the team as the team was a disaster! The same way how Iran has chosen a highly rated foreign coach, but Capello failed badly by sticking to the same old ageing players, defensive tactics and being plain stubborn.

lets not kid ourself with the Euros and WC qualification. I guess in your mind teams like Andorra, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Belarus, Croatia, Montenegro, Bulgaria, Switzerland and Wales are World class team! Anyone could qualify against teams like this!

All I'm saying is the Italian current team is nothing special! They are good and just good, I'm not taking away the fact they totally deserved to win the game and justice was served but the fact that England were playing disgustingly awful in that game and they still failed to score in 120 minutes where in the previous 3 games England has conceded 4 goals with much crappy team, and I'm just stating the facts here!

Italy makes in exciting to watch but if I had to bet my money, i'd take germany.
