baba jaan it depends on what happend those years with other players. They give it to those who have won the most and made the most significance. In 2006 cannavaro won the player of the year cuz of italy and juventus...doest mean pirlo was bad its just that cannavaro's accomplishments were more

haji, i never said pirlo is bad, its just that pirlo never accomplished enough to become best player of the world and blaming it on ronaldo and messi is a very lame excues because these guys have been shining only 3 4 years now. pirlo has been long there but never became the best player of the world. so there must be a reason why always, some other player won it ahead of him, inspite of his team winning the serie A, winning the CL, winning the worldcup, etc...

Pirlo was man of the match 3 times in 06 world cup btw. He also won 2 champions leagues.

u have to examine year by year, i cant take u throughout his career. These awards usually go to strikers or attacking players cuz they score the goals. rarely it goes to a defender or defensive mid or keeper.

if he was as good as u guys are making him to be, i dont think we need to go over his career year by year to justify why every year, he didnt win it (did he even get nominated in top 3? i highly doubt it!!) and this inspite of him winning CL, serie A and worldcup??

Look at the list of those who won it while pirlo was playing....this is what i mean u have to judge year by year....the years he COULD'VE won it which was 2003, 2006, 2007 u can clearly see why those other players were selected. Cuz they were forwards and had excellent years. Only cannavaro is a defensive player who won in it in 2006 cuz of juventus, italy NT and going to semis of CL...he was basically flawless.
