Spain was extremely lucky to see two italian injuried during the match. the motta's injury killed the match, the 2 last goals mean nothing.

Ireland was weak and was beaten by croatia and Italy too.

Hope that spaniards are enjoying these moments, in some years they will lose all these titles when we will find they were doped (like armstrong, contador, nadal, etc...)

When the grass rollers (GR) lost 4 -0 against Spain (in the final), then I would say, Spain was not lucky. GRs were not able to keep the ball while GRs' opponents were having fun.
However it seemed to me that the GRs strategy to suddenly fall, or performing triple backward and forward somersault while not being hit, worked in this final. Indeed, the referee didn't see a GR defense played volley ball in the 18 meters and another GR defense pushed with violence Sergio Ramos in the 18 meters. Actually, these two penalties would make a lot of changes; Italy would lose 6-0 against Spain.

Some people on Twitter are claiming that Spain's third and forth goal were classless and they shouldn't have scored more.

          What do you guys think?

I personally don't agree. This is a competitive sport after all. The point is to score goals and beat the opposition by as much as possible. What was Spain supposed to do? Keep the ball in their own half the rest of the game?

Don't get me wrong, I was hoping for Spain to loose too, that's why I wanted Germany in the final but Italy simply did not deserve to win with that performance.

Italy did a very good tournament, but it was impossible for them to do better in the final, considering all the things that went against them tonight.

I think even Spain could have beat Germany 2-0 at most seeing how solid their defense was and those nice quick/short passes. The German's defense wasn't too great especially against Italy I doubt they would have been Euro chapions had they gone onto the finals

I don't find what people find to this Germany. in 2010 they were impressive but not this year.

                    Portugal-Germany : they didn't play well
Holland-Germany : ok it was a little bit better
                    Denmark-Germany : I didn't watch the game
Greece-Germany : they played against minnows greece that scored 2 goals
Italy-Germany : outclassed by italians, were completely lost and disorganized

I hate Italy since 2006 too. But this year they played well. All the matches Italy played were pleasant. On the contrary, Spain matches (against France or Portugal) were so boring.
It is not because I hate Italy that I can't be objective.

Spain back to their old best tonight, it's hard not to like them when they play like that. Italy had bad luck with the injury but Spain were clearly superior even before that. I think the Portugal game lit a fire under Spain's ass because they were attacking much more just in this one match then they did the whole tournament.

Achievements wise they are the best national team ever ! 2 Euro Cups and a World Cup all in a row and they have beaten everyone.... Argentina, Italy, Germany, Holland, England, Portugal you name it. They haven't beaten Brazil but Brazil are not that great anymore, I would've liked to have seen that match in the last world cup but Brazil lost to Holland in a really K!ri way.

Respect to Italy though they are a great team and I've gained a lot of respect for them in this tournament but tonight they played the best team in the world at their best and were outclassed.

But we saw in the Portugal-Spain game that the Spanish defence had trouble to perform good under pressure.

Italy tied spain 1-1 earlier. Calm down son. It was clear that the ref and the odds were against italy. They have a half injured squad. And a cassano with a heart murmur.
P.S italy has 4 world cups. Spain has 1.

I thought the first half was actually pretty even.
Casillas just saved spains a$$ and Buffon choked, it's quite simple.
After becoming 10 men it makes a big difference and added 2 goals.
This game in reality would have stayed at 2-0 or even 2-1.
You put any team in the WORLD 10 Man against spain and see what happens.

I still believe that Spain would have beat Germany though
