Fantastic News! Elaheh Ahmadi has progressed from the Women's Shooting Qualification and will be in the finals in 90 minutes. The top 8 (out of 56 athletes progress to the final round and Elaheh tied for 5th with a score of 397/400 but is ranked 8th when the 'tie-breaker' is considered. While it's unlikely that she'll get a medal, this is an incredible result and step forward for us (especially when we consider how we haven't had a female shooter in 12 years)!

In other news, Mahlagha Jambozorg finished 43/56 in the Women's Shooting Qualification.

Neda Shahsavari lost her table tennis match in 7 sets to a Nigerian athlete and is now eliminated. No surprises here.

I made a mistake about Elaheh Ahmadi. Since she was tied for 5th with 4 others, they have to 'shoot-out' in order to eliminate one of the contestants. Once this is done, we'll know who is ranked between 5-8 prior to the final round.

Update: Elaheh Ahmadi had the highest score in the shoot-out and will progress to the final round as the 5th ranked player! Again, the top 8/56 contestants qualify for the final round. Since there were 5 who were initially tied for 5th place (Elaheh included), they had to go to a 'shoot-out' which Elaheh came first in.

The final round will take place at 11:00 BST (50 minutes from now). The top two players have a score of 399/400 while the 3rd & 4th ranked players have a score of 398/400. Elaheh and the other 3 finalists each have a score of 397/400. Each contestant will take 10 shots in the final round and the highest score for each shot will be 10.9 rather than 10. The points generated from these shots will be added to the existing score of the player.

Update: Elaheh Ahmadi finished 6th out of 56 contestants in the 10m air rifle event. She'll be participating in another shooting event in the coming days so it will be interesting to see how she performs then.

                  Well done to her!!!

The men's cycling is going on now. There was a crash - and our riders were right behind it and got caught up. Looked like at least one of our riders, No 100, was unable to get back on his bike....

ZARGARI Amir one of our cyclists is out of the race...

SOHRABI Mehdi is currently in the 116th position while our 3rd rider is in the last 5... we have to wait till the chase to see what happens i guess

Our men's rower finished last in his heats group
