I heard the commentator saying that Ehsan came 7th last year in the amateur world cup so who knows, maybe he can win

He is two wins away from being in medal contention. In the beginning I thought he was doomed but now I'm a bit more optimistic.

Ummm tough to say. He is very quick but sometimes complacent (bit ****y too but then again you want that in a boxer).

He got to the last 8 I think in Baku 2011 but lost Rasulov (Uzb). He then lost to Niazymbetov (Kaz) which got beaten in turn by La Cruz the Cuban. At 22 the Cuban is the man for the Gold Id say. Hopeful of Ehsan getting a Bronze though.

The ethnic Tajik guy that was given citizenship by Turkey for these games. Love the Irooni name though

Again, another Iranian athlete who is doing much better than anyone expected. I really hope that this trend continues throughout the games and that are medal hopefuls will deliver when the time comes.

Stay tuned for tomorrow - it will be a busy day for Iranian athletes. I'll make the thread in a few hours. Also, thanks for keeping the page updated guys - I'll be able to do more (provide updates and streams) as of Wednesday's events.

Seriously, if you check the iranian judokas, taekwondo, wrestlers and weightlifters nearly all of thek have won gold alread in world or asia games, at least bronze. so i really pray for many medals in wrestling judo taekwondo and weightlifting, mostly in wrestling
