Celtic want Uefa 'clarification' on refereeing in Juventus match
The 41-year-old reveals they will send the governing body a DVD of the game in search of "answers", lambasting the lack of "strong" officiating
Celtic manager Neil Lennon has revealed that the club intend to seek "clarification" from Uefa about the refereeing during Tuesday's Champions League defeat to Juventus.
The Bhoys boss feels that the Italian champions should have conceded at least one penalty to his side for heavy-handed defending at set-pieces on their way to a 3-0 win at Parkhead and says that the club will send Uefa a DVD of the game to seek answers on the matter.
"We will compile a DVD, send it to Uefa and see what kind of answers we get," Lennon told reporters.
"You don't see our players doing that. There were pictures of the shirt coming off Gary Hooper's back; credit to him for keeping his cool.
"It's a myth that Juventus 'did their homework'. That's rubbish. Juventus defend like that week-in, week-out in Serie A. If anything, we had done our homework and we made sure the referee was aware of it and he was looking at it time and again and Juventus went unpunished."
Lennon went on to state that a "strong referee" would have acted on what he saw and suggested that Celtic would have been awarded a penalty for the same offences a decade ago.
"We needed a strong referee and we didn't have that," he fumed. "As I said after the game, 10 or 11 years ago we got a penalty against Juventus in the exact same circumstances, the player was warned about grappling with Chris Sutton, the corner comes in he did again and the referee gave a penalty.
"Have the rules changed since then?"

There was gonna be one winner in that Juve-Celtic game and it was pretty obvious who it was gonna be and they played exceptional road game. Celtic played by well putting pressure on Pirlo and closing him down and playing physical but it was only gonna work for certain amount of time. They came in with a strategy to kick Juve around the field but they failed to realize this isn't gonna work Juve is playing in Serie A they are being kick around every week in a though league. Pirlo the master punished them as soon as these kids got tired in the second half. Celtic fans are just being bunch of cry babies, they have a good team with those players that they have but lets be honest they would be no where fit to play in EPL or Serie A. They should be proud to even take it that far and betting Barca in group stage. Unfortunately the English media is just trying to take advantage of a shorty and beat it down and make it appear everywhere just for their papers. and those comments Micheal Owen made about the game, all I got to say is buddy your playing for Stock City. Stop trying to be an analyst.
About the Man United , they played really well. To go in that stadium and come out with a draw I couldn't ask for a better result. Da gea amazing , Phil Jones amazing, Ferdinanad Amazing , Welbeck amazing. People are talking about how Waye Rooney is playing bad but I do not blame the guy for a second. How man strikers would sacrifice for their team to play in a wide position for 70min. He did what he had to do and It was big gamble by Sir Alex which paid off with rooney's his assist on the corner. Obvioulsy it's not gonna be an easy game in Old Trafford but I am confident enough we could beat this Madrid team if we play our game right.
and on a last note, what a goal by Ronaldo. There was no way evra could've stopped him lol. That jump was the same height as an average NBA player that jumps.

your 1st point....it shows how little these ENGLISH/BRITISH folks know about the game of football and TACTICS...no wonder their national team never does shit. Celtic coach said we studied juve and knew they were gonna do that, etc.....well hello idiot u are a coach you're supposed to STUDY all the major leagues and be aware of it all. THese brits only follow their own league and are oblivious to the world around them UNTIL it comes to playing a team from another country and then they study them. Well in this case, they didnt even study hard enough cuz like u said Serie A is TOUGHER and their lame tactic of going all out at the beginnign and trying to get a goal and playing physical wasnt gonna last long. Even then it took a couple of attacks to shut them down, by not only scoring but putting the rebound back in cuz they didnt catch the ball passing the line lol.....then 2nd half we kept our composure and scored 2 more goals. It didnt matter what celtic did, we were gonna win. Its the same story as australia in 2006 world cup....teams that do a little good and think they deserve a win over giants of the game. Somehow all these teams that get a little success think they can beat italian teams. They forget there is a reason this type of football has been successful for so long and in many different generations. You dont just take them down by your MOMENTUM building and hyping yourself up
about Man U....it was an excellent result and i think they coulda won too. Like i predicted i think Man U will take this at home easily like 2-0 or something.
Bayern will beat arsenal
Barca will beat Milan
next round will be exciting

Very nice article from a friend of mine on twitter about Serie A. Even though I am devoted to the English premier league and consider it one of the best leagues but my interest towards Serie A has increased over the past years. I stopped watching La Liga simply because it was just a two sided league and put more time focusing on watching the Serie A instead.

Serie A is always more competitive...u dont really know who will end up where til the end of the season. Currently the race is over in england, spain and germany. In Italy it's still up for grabs, although this year Juve has managed to go up alot but usually at least 3 teams are still in the race til maybe couple of weeks til the end. But the race for the top 6 euro spots is always up and down and teams take points away from each other.
One of the main reasons English and Spanish football is more popular is because of marketing and the language...english and spanish cover a VERY WIDE audience across the world. That along with teams super spending so they take all the players from everywhere. If you notice in the past few years most of the top talent in serie A gets snatched up too. And finally its the quality of the stadiums and cameras they use in england vs. italy is a world of differnce. Italian economy is real bad and the stadiums are old...they need to upgrade to more modern stadiums that are close to the field.

the problem isn't wenger
its the people at the top who havent run the club well (frankly rouyanian might have done a better job)
even with what he has had to deal with, wenger has not only finished in the top four in the last 13 years but also made it to the second round of the champions league
