Barca wasnt' playing football with Milan, they played Milan like playing pinball machine and early hit is a factor when you play pinball; Milan had nothing, even on the last possession they gave it up so easy.

given milan's (and generally italians') proficiency in defending, what turned the game and the entire tie around is the EARLY GOAL barca scored.

if they hadnt scored by min 25-30, I fear right now they'd be celebrating in milan instead of barcelona.
I am definitely sure aligeri's tactics would have been to push forward from the beginning and even risk a little to score that single goal. almost any coach would have opted for this tactic against a team that's been leaking goals for the longest time and having a 2-0 advantage. and I'd say chances of them coming at barca in waves and attacking incessantly was very very high, to get that golden away goal.

the only thing that ruined all their tactics was the early goal.
with 2-0 up, you still have a cushion to try a little risky play and a bit of attacking strategy.
but when it is 2-1 in the opponents' home, for the rest of 85 minutes, it would have been very unwise to go ahead with that strategy.


that's why even above niang's miss, I'd say the pivotal moment of the game was messi's early goal at min 5

Masoud, you were talking about RM and FCB being overrated. Tell me about BM. BM's level was tonight a bit like a French club of second division. And you see without Ribery, BM is nothing impressive.

I think bayern without schweinsteiger is not impressive. he is the heart and soul of the team. he is irreplaceable because he is our only DM who can carry the ball from defense to attach. martinez, gustavo and tymoschuk cant which is why kroos was dropping way back to carry the ball upfront.

ribery on the other hand is our most dangerous player but schweini is our engine...

and wats with robben not giving any passes in front of goal?? if u dont want to pass, atleast score from one of the 10 shots u take on goal,, he cant even score from 1-on-1s any more... :|

BM was missing many key players... first off.. van buyten is old and shitty.. hes a liability...... we had no schwienstiger and ribery( who is the main offensive spark of bayern, very underrated).... robben was also played on his bad side.... he NEEDS to play on the right.... and playing javi as CM killed our offense because he is a DM/ Center back!!! Not to mention that mandzukic does not fare well as a solo striker especially in tough games... Mario gomez is much better for solo striker.... Either way... its not like arsenal is weak at all.. they are just underperforming in EPL... if you look at their squad its not surprising at all....


Bayern will shit on any team with its full squad.


this is the equivalent of removing xavi and iniesta from barcelona... and placing sanchez as sole center forward.

majority of wat u said is true,, but still, the team is weak mentally and doesnt have champions spirit and attitude. this has been seen past few years as well. while the squad is strong talent wise, but mentally, they are weak and emotional. so if they start feeling nervous, they lose it all and to feel nervous, all that needs to be done is to concede a goal or miss a few good chances which is ironic because this exactly used to be the strongest point of german teams specially bayern during the days of kahn, ballack, mathaeus and effenberg.

i think real madrid also has this problem to an extent.

on the other side, barca, juve and dortmund are very good at this and have much better ability not to lose their nerves..

there are 5 good teams, 3 average ones (no offense PSG fans)
UEFA wants good match ups to get people's interest so i think 1 out of the 4 games will be 2 of the 3 average teams...it'll be something like PSG-Malaga or Malaga-Galatasaray

then the other 3 matches will be the tough teams...i predict:

Barca - Juve

Bayern - Real

Dortmund - PSG

Malaga - Galatasaray

no, simply because of their good workrate that game. Bayern showed literally nothing at home..but Arsenal fought for their lives.
