The ref gave the two points to Abdvali but it was the jury who took the points from him. The slow motion video clearly show Abdvali grab the french guy bellow the waist and that is a foul. However why the ref took a point from Abavali in the first part it beats me. What ref did in the first round was enough to damage the confidence of Abdvali. I personally did not like the way ref was pointing at him. Shame on them!

^ pretty much Abdevali was cheated, the ref was making very biased calls against him for "fouls" and pretty much handed the game to the Frenchman. The reasons for calling the "fouls" are idiotic, i believe one of the fouls was for contact with the frenchmans head but on another forum i looked at they said that they didnt see any contact with the head so that was a bs call. After the Frenchman was handed a win, he and his coach were cheering as if they won fairly which is why people are really pissed including myself. pretty much the same situation with Ali Mazaheri.

I got back like 2 hours ago and was expecting Abdevali to be in the final and Rezaei to be eliminated or in the Repechage but it was the other way around and I've been reading about all the controversy that has happened. I managed to watch Abdevali's match with Guenot and in the 1st round I really have no idea what happened and where Guenot got his points from but in the 2nd Abdevali definitely grabbed below the waist when he turned him and there is no one to blame but himself for that. Either way he will be back to win Gold in 2013 world championships and he is still the best !

I would probably be a lot more angry had we not already won 2 golds and Rezaei not made the final. So we still have a medal in the bag and a chance for another gold.. To be honest I can see the Russian winning in a low scoring match.. something like 1-0, 0-1, 1-0 but I hope Rezaei wins... I also heard the Russian had some help from the refs in his match with Sweden which doesn't look too good for us considering what happened today.

Whoever wins this final will go top of the medal table in Wrestling with 3 golds, even though the Russians have 2 bronze aswell.

Starting weights are up for the weightlifting.. obviously they will change, but Salimi looks like he will easily win gold (as if we didn't know that lol)..

but If we can get 2 medals, that would be awesome! Sajjad's snatch appears to be much stronger than his c+j so if he can hit his first snatch and go for some bigger lifts in the snatch, it will allow him to have a better chance at medaling. His C+J is listed at 13 kg less than Steiner. Stenier will be hard for Sajjad to beat as Steiner's personal bests are 203 snatch, 258 C+J. Sajjad lifted 198/241 at the world champs. Surprisingly though, sajjad is starting at 198 today so maybe he is going for silver!

I don't know much about these guys.. just looking up the numbers so if anyone else has insight please share it!

Actually Steiner hasn't had impressive numbers recently.. He got 424 in April and Ablegov the russian got 429. Sajjad got 439 last year at worlds so a 1-2 is definitely a possibility!!

Since I didn't get a chance to watch the match, I'll trust your call. Still, I don't know why some of these younger members are killing themselves - if a bad ref call is enough for them to start wishing him pain and death, I can only imagine their reaction to situations in which they're directly involved in. Regardless, we have one wrestler in the final who was not one of our 'medal favourites' - at least if he wins, it can compensate for Abdevali's elimination.

Dude it's sports and we are sports fanatics (fans) the whole point is to get overly emotional, I like getting worked up over sports that's why I watch it.

Dude it's sports and we are sports fanatics (fans) the whole point is to get overly emotional, I like getting worked up over sports that's why I watch it.

Don't get me wrong - as am I. However, isn't wishing death and pain on ref/judge a little too extreme? Of course, it's not like words on a forum will affect him but it's still sick for someone to have that type of mentality.
