How do you expect Iran to BETTER its total tally in 2016, IF the wrestlers won't perform?!
Overall, I think the wrestlers, even the free-styler, did a FANTASTIC JOB.
We had seven freestyle wrestlers:
1 silver
2 bronze
And one wrestler lost an almost certain medal because of injury.
Thats very good if you look at our wrestlers records from the past Olympics.

Re: the fasting issue. Dont want to offend anyone but surely our sportsman should know better than to fast during a tournament. Im sure Mohammad would agree.

It all depends on the athlete and the kind of sport they participate in...I know Hakeem Olajuwon would regularly fast during NBA games and he still performed at an MVP level. However each person handles it better or worse depending on their body. And as far as I know it is entirely up to the person whether or not they fast. I know some muslims who don't if something important like (a test or sporting event) is involved, while others do it regardless. It's no different than a Jew who takes the Sabbath seriously no matter what, or a Jew who will adapt to the conditions they are presented with (or a christian for that matter). each person makes their own choices based upon their beliefs and I respect that.

I am sure Iran would be in the top 10 if we had some luck...we had a lot of bad referees and injuries..also Ramadan may be the case of mental weakness.
Overall, I am really proud of what our atlethes have brought us! 12 medals are just awesome.
However, next time I really want to see Team Melli participating in soccer at the Olympics. This is needed for development and experiences for younger players.

About the fasting issue ; does anyone have any evidence for them fasting? and you cannot tell me 'they looked tired' - that can happen to anyone, not someone who's fasting. I'm not denying it or saying it's true, but I want to know if fasting caused them this weakness. And the other wrestlers that got Gold , were they fasting too? again.. need evidence and sources..I've learnt it's not what you have in your life, but who you have in your life that counts

If yes, isn't most of our athletes back to Iran anyway?I've learnt it's not what you have in your life, but who you have in your life that counts

They actually let the Azerbaijani wrestler who was supposed to fight Yazdani enter the mat to declare him the winner.
Anyway, the finals is going on right now and it's really sad to watch this as Yazdani was the much better fighter compared to these 2 in the finals!Persian Pride running through my veins!
Esteghlal for life!!
