    Paralympics

For anyone who wants to know how we did in 2008:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iran_at...er_Paralympics

Hopefully we can beat that amount this year..

Our main strength is in strength type of sports, such as powerlifting, judo, wheelchair fencing and some of the athletics like discus/javelin throw.. We also are one of the best in volleyball/basketball.. we got Gold in volleyball and are the favourites for this year..

Our football 7aside got bronze in 2008, so we'll have a shout.. usually, we are good in indoor football (futsal), and this type of football suits us. did you know we beat brazil 4-0 in the bronze medal match? we also beat GB in the group stage 3-0. impressive.

our football 5 aside is playing argentina in the opening game (31st august) , and our football 7aside is playing holland (1st september)

    Good luck to Iran

our judo (Saeed Rahmati) is fighting vs Falcon of Venezuela in the preliminary round in an hour.

Quote by Seyed Mehdi Sayahi (the player that scored all nine of Iran's goals): "Fame is not important to us. Getting the gold is what is important."

Imagine if one of our footballers came out and said this.

Jalil Bagheri just won a gold medal in Shot Put. Also, his score was apparently a Paralympic record.

In other news, Iran beat the Netherlands in Men's 7-a-side Paralympic Football.

Go Iran, make us proud. I think our disabled athletes should deserve many attention too.
