Yea whats sad about Hamed is he is actually good, he had all the attributes to make it big, and as far as Iranian basketball talent goes we might not see one like him in the near future. He had a great shot, good at blocking and rebounding, pretty strong on his feet although he looks skinny. He has basketball IQ but problem is he never challenged himself to do better...he's had many chances and decided to take it easy and didnt really develop his game over the years. He coulda been a good center in NBA cuz there arent really many and it was perfect timing for him......its just that is how most kids in iran are nowdays, they dont have the mentallity of a pro athlete and that goes for most of our sports. Overall there have been a handful of iranians athletes that were really professional, most of the rest were just content with reaching a certain level and not care to excel to the next level.
Luckily arsalan doesnt seem that way...he is smart and makes the right choices and he has ambition to become good.

until we have this backward regime that doesnt allow our people and country to progress and get exposed to how things are done properly around the world....our situation will get worse

Hamed needs to quit smoking (Rumour on the grizzlie boards and build his stamina. He also needs to stop it with the fouls already. He pretty much commits 2 or 3 fouls everytime he gets to play about 5 minutes.
There are way bigger guys than him in the league that can play consistently. I strongly doubt he would get more playing time anywhere else.

hamed is just in his own world....most of the time he sits on the bench slouching or not even paying attention to the game. Instead of learning from the best bigs and a good coach...getting in shape, working hard....he goofs off too much which it actually surprises me he lasted so long and they resigned him. He pissed me off over the years by not working hard enough and taking his chances for granted.

^^i am not sure, but it seems this is a trait from people in south of iran, especially ahvaz and abadan, once they get to a comfortable level they stop trying and they are happy with what they have. it seems HH is pretty happy to be on the bench and getting paid for it.
memphis will not sign him for next season, and he may pretty well know it to, so he is just trying to pick up the check and head back to iran basketball league next season.IRI = FAILED

I think he's just over it, too bad a guy like Asik gets BS contract from Rockets(i still give it to the guy, he worked his ass for us last 2 seasons when he was playing for the bulls) and hammed still keeping the bench warm for the starters, he might as well become towel boy, he would get more action.

honestly i dont get why grizzlies even keep this guy this long. Paying him all that money just in case of injuries for him to step in makes no sense. They usually go small anyways and they have plenty of big men so in a way hamed is lucky they even kept him this long. Him and his agent were too lazy to shop around and have him sign with another team that can really use him. Maybe he'll get lucky and they'll trade him or something for a smaller player otherwise he will get wasted this year
