Hamed Haddadi 2012/2013 NBA Thread - News, updates, videos, stats
Haddadi got to play 7 minutes in total in big win over Toronto at home. He managed to score on his only attempt with a nice outside shot, but beside that he didn't put up any other stat.
And believe it or not, he first entered the game already at the end of the 2nd Q. On the negative side, he had an early foul and was taken out about 1 minute later...
He could've been a much more better player than he is right now?? For sure yessss. He could've even been a starter in some of these teams in the league.
But give the dude a break,i mean he is a pioneer for the Iranian basketball and we keep mocking him over and over again. He for sure is more upset with his situation with the team than we are, so best we can do is keep supporting him. No matter how much time he's given we gotta have his back cuz he is the one to clear the NBA path for Iran's Basketball.
He is playing behind arguably the best Center in the league on the best team in the league right now. Gasol and ZBO along with Rudy Gay are the best frontcourt in the league without a doubt. So we gotta be patient and let Hamed figure out things himself, hope he'll be able to do that...
Tonight against the Raptors he wasn't pulled out of the game because of that foul in the 2nd Q, there was 22 seconds left in the Quarter and Memphis was playing with both Hamed and Gasol on the floor, so Hollins put QPon in for him so the Grizzlies could defend the perimeter on that last position.
Also he played the first 3 minutes of the 4th Quarter which don't count as garbage minutes. Then again his nice jumper came in the garbage minutes of the game.
With Memphis making a name for themselves and looking like a top 3-4 team in the west i guess their coach Hollins would like to give his main guys more rest when possible so HH has to take his chances now that they will come.

i hear what ur saying but we do support him, if i see him in person i would tell him and we are all proud of him for coming this far
what disappoints us is his lack of ambition to go even further....i can say hey im making 80K/ year now so let me just chilll and ride out rest of my life at this same job cuz im comfortable and happy.....but u wanna always advance in life, u wanna move up, make more money, more of an impact. Problem with hamed is from what ive seen....being on one of the great teams as u said with good big men, he hasnt seem to have LEARNED much of how to play the game or be like them. And the same with watching soooooo many NBA players up front. By now he should have figured at least half the NBA players and how they play....so he could anticipate...but everytime he comes on the floor i feel like its his first time. Like he doesnt know the players or what the team wants him to do. I just had higher expectaions from him, he's a smart guy and def. has talent, im just sad that he didnt push further to become a star.
unfortunately we say this every year....if he really works hard and proves himself he can get more min. this year but im afraid hollins has lost hope in him and he's literally there in case of injuries or foul trouble..some occasional games he'll come in and have a good game but he'll go back to the bench next game and the pattern will continue. I will always support him and i like him as a person.....but at this point i have lost hope in him becoming a regular unless if he leaves memphis.

im looking forward to arsalan kazemi however
I get what ur saying and i completely agree with it,i for one am the most disappointed one in him since i knew him from when he was like 16-17. At that time his game was really raw but you could see the massive talent hanging inside the kid. Now he has got to a stage where most Iranian basketball players can only dream of.
What i'm saying is yeah he has completely being underachieving in this 4-5 years so what we can do is just help him out or support him to make a better decision, whether it's a transfer or it's him busting his Ass off in the teams trainings.
We shouldn't let him go to waste as we might not get such a player in decades. Remember the contract HH got in the first 3 years was the type of contract a #15 draft pick in the first round receives , a thing that i highly doubt Arsalan can earn in his first 3 years if he hopefully makes it to the NBA.(As we know a second round draft pick isn't guaranteed a contract.)
With his unique size and soft touch and defensive liability if he had the work ethics and the passion AK14 has he would have been a starting Center on one of the top 15 NBA teams i guess.
All in all yes i believe if AK reaches the NBA he will be milestones ahead of HH in earning playing time and making a name for himself.

yea definitely....im really hoping arsalan can continue his good run, stay healthy and all he needs is a chance in nba and he'll make himself known...he might not be a super star in nba but as long as he's a known player and gets 20 min or so a game i'd be happy
many iranian athletes are like hamed...they have a great potential but at some point they give up or dont have the mentallity to progress cuz they get overwhelmed by the big stage, etc....karimi was one of the biggest ones, i had such high hopes for him and he totally wasted it. Looks like just now that he's this old he has realized it, only if he was this mature like 6-7 years ago
with arsalan's good performance, hamed has become the forgotten man for now lol.....
he has hardly played this season, if i remember just a couple of garbage min a month ago......he came on today with gasol's foul trouble.....its half time now, so far he played almost 9 min, got 2 pts, 8 rebs, 1 assist but 3 fouls already.....he did miss 4 shots though
