Hamed Haddadi 2012/2013 NBA Thread - News, updates, videos, stats
Memphis just traded Speights/Selby/pick for some scrub PF/C Cavs picked up off the waivers.
ETA: Add Ellington to that trade too, Memphis dumping salary.
they should just trade haddadi...whats the point of keeping him? lol
for what he does and worth HH is the best option for Memphis. he comes in and gives positive mins without the cost of other back up centers. he is like a Pride car. he gets the job down with the bare minimum
now memphis has 11 players on the roster. and 2 centers, Gasol and HH. it means we will see more of HH for the rest of season. he better not fcuk this up. he will have enough time to show himself yet again!!!

I still doubt it. They still have randolph and arthur who play big too so hamed will still see limited min. + he hasnt seen the floor much for the coach to put so much faith in him after all these years to play him consistently. They got rid of speights cuz they got too many big men, hamed will continue the garbage/emergency min. he needs to leave memphis
They made a huge mistake trading ellington.... hes been puttin up as much as gay this season. Arthur and Speights are basically the same player so that was a good trade, since Artur can defend big and shoot well.
If they were worried about the luxury tax, I wouldve added gay to the trade and gotten another similarly-leveled player and probably a decent PG, since theres basically no backup to conley now.

Agreed, the bench at memphis is one of the most stacked in the NBA. Hamed would be a good 15 minute player at ANY other franchise in the NBA besides the obvious heat, okc, and spurs..... even Lakers could use him with Howard's garbage performance this season.

Dude Hamed would be a starter on OKC, **** Scrubkins
I believe Memphis has 9 players in rotation tonight (including Haddadi) when Lakers come to visit. It's possible that Haddadi would have played tonight anyway as the Lakers is one of the few big teams in the league (with Gasol and Howard). However, as the team is shorthanded due to the recent trade his playing minutes should increase, whether Hollins like it or not.
Unfortunately, I think Haddadi will get into early foul trouble as he will go up against Gasol and Howard. Sure, they both have been playing poorly this season, and Howard in particular has not been given any "star"-calls this season, but on the other hand HH never gets any favored calls either. The referees has been very harsh on HH most of the times, and although he does foul a lot the calls usually go against him. I have seen him pick up two technical fouls the last two seasons in which both could be considered a joke (referees thought Hamed was taunting players). If there is one thing that Howard has done succesfully this season it is to draw fouls from the opponents. Also, he has had two bad games in a row now and will probably step up his game. Hopefully Haddadi avoids getting into foul trouble as this might be a big chance for him to shine, and also for the Grizzlies hopes of winning this game (they'll need him with this small rotation).
Haddadi on for Gasol in first quarter already after he picks up 2 fouls early. Right after Randolph picks up 2 and now Haddadi has 2 as well (in less than 2 minutes playing time).
