Hamed Haddadi 2012/2013 NBA Thread - News, updates, videos, stats
He is a tremendous defensive anchor. Just look at his +/- stats compared to say, Scola. HH was +11 tonight in his 21 minutes playing. If you see him not getting much points is because Suns offense barely goes through him. Haddadi limited Brook Lopez massively tonight. Lopez shot 6/15 from the field.
Hamed could've tied the game on a missed FT with 3 secs remaining, he got the O rebound but came short to score the bucket. Overall impressive performance by double H.
i did not watch the game completely, but there are only 11 more games left in the season for the SUNS, this is his last chance to make an impression otherwise with the SUNS trying to rebuild for next season he may not be part of their planes.
he needs to push himself, be more assertive and show that he can play. he should be fighting for an extension on his contract now. otherwise he will be back in Hafari e ahvaz for next season LOOL
also he had a chance to tie the game in the last second of the game but his left hook didnt go in
basically dragic missed the free throw on purpose...hamed GOT the reb and tossed it back up, it hit rim but bounced out. This woulda been huge if he made that shot.
So embarrassing for him, he missed what should have been an easy put back for him to send the game into OT. It was contested but nonetheless he got a good look and should have scored. And to make it even more embarrassing, his attempted lay up was a brick

come on man some people are so harsh on him. When the game is in dying seconds its tough to play normal...especially in this case where he had to HOPE to get a rebound. I'm proud of him for even getting that much needed rebound and even getting a shot up. It happened so fast and this guy is NOT used to be in this situation in the NBA. how many times has he been on the floor in such an important time?
Hamed is gaining his confidence back in this team. Hollins totally screwed him, thats why in that funny video he looked back asking the coach if he should stop shooting. ITs clearly cuz of his experience with Hollins being so impatient and pissy about things, the guy is afraid of doing certain things cuz he got judged for every little mistake there.
guys i know i mentioned this earlier but it really pisses me off how some Iranians show no support for this guy. Its like they just wanna band wagon and support when someone is doing great! Like now all of a sudden Arsalan is starting to be mentioned in Iranian media and people are talking about him. ITs like where were you guys like us following him all the way?? NOW that they are in sweet 16 im hearing so many Iroonis wanting to watch this game on Friday. OH great catch what could be his last game in NCAA :-/
but the Haddadi thing pisses me off, im hearing people say he sucks...or when he went up against Howard they want him to be like the best dominant center of nba or somethign...come on now...its Howard who should be ashamed of not being able to play against Hamed. But people judge Hamed like he's supposed to be the best. They dont realize its step by step...the guy is doin good for such limited playing time. Who averages like 3 blocks per game (since he went to phoneix) ?? he is a presence under the basket and changes games. These people who know nothing about basketball got the nerve to judge him. But watch him do a good game and they'll be all over his nuts.

Damet garm Ekbatan jan, you're right, but that's typical Iranians for you, no surprises.

Maybe I am being too harsh, but the typical suns fan wouldn't excuse such a miss. It's not going to sit well with them....not saying its right but I'd bet they'll be mad. It's not an easy situation to be in mentally but he still needs to finish his put backs.
I totally agree with hollins and his role in hameds lack of confidence. HH himself said that he was afraid of making mistakes in Memphis because he would be taken out the second he made a mistake. Idiot hollins screwed with hameds head/confidence there.
Hopefully he'll be ready next time he's in such a situation.

when he signed his contract with memhis this past summer it was a 2 year contract with the first year guaranty, and the 2nd year pending performance and the wiliness of both sides!!
I'm a lifelong Suns fan (and infrequent poster here mostly about TM) and I really think Haddadi has a chance of making the Suns next year. One of Gortat and O'Neal will definitely be gone, and it could possibly be both as the Suns look to get younger. Haddadi has played well as a defensive anchor and has not shied away from opponents big men. He gives 100% effort and in his time with the Suns is averaging career highs in minutes, points, rebounds and blocks.
What he really MUST work on if he wants to stay in the NBA is a post game. He needs at least two post moves. At 7'2'' he can get by on size alone in many instances, but if in the offseason if he can work with a big man coach and add a couple of basic post up moves to his game, he can easily be an 8pt 8rb 2blk a night center, and that's more than enough to eat off of in the NBA.
The Suns have a team option on his contract, and he has 11 games to prove to them that they should exercise the option. If he continues his current play, he very likely has a future in the Valley for at least one more season. As the saying goes, you cant coach height, and at 7'2'', he's a rare commodity.
