Best midfielders ?

This is probably one of the most controversial argument I have with my friends and I think we will never come to an agreement. I mean the list could be very long because we have a lot of good midfielders playing right now and it will always depend on the type of player you like. But I consider these ones the best because the number the type and quality of player they are and each on of them have won CL trophy or two.

Lampard

Xavi and Iniesta are great if you have a forward who can cut well like Messi, Ronaldo, Hulk, Pato etc.

Pirlo, Nasri, Da Silva, are great when you have forwards that capitalize crosses like Balotelli, Ibra etc.

Most other midfielders are good at their job,medium ball movement, long shots,and hustle... Gerrard, Lampard, Sneijder


I think some defensive midfielders are just as important as the offensive ones. Yaya Toure is one example of a CDM who can make the other team's job so much harder to do because it is so hard to get around him.

Scholes was one of the best midfielders in his prime, but I wouldn't put him in the same bracket as Xavi and Iniesta now..

Scholes is the BEST! There shouldnt be anyone who does say anything else! The best footballplayer of the world are saying it! It has to be an unbelievable feeling when everybody does say u are the best...

midfield is a tough category to just pick 5 you have different types...usually 4-5 per team so a defensive mid is different than an offensive mid than a mid on wings, etc....

- marchisio, vidal, schweinstiger, khedira (box to box)

- sneijder, yaya toure, ozil, jovetic (attacking)

- Pirlo, xavi, iniesta, gerrard (overall)

Pirlo is a god in the midfield. Freaking retard milan gave him away.

they are there because they lost about 100 million euro worth of players, they lost ibrahimovic and thiago silva, they currently have no good defenders and their forward line except robinho are all young kids.

My bet for this year? Juve first Inter second. I Dont think milan can make top 3 this year.

However there is one shining star in milan, the 19 year old El sharaaway guy, he is fast and deadly, I think with the proper ambition he can be a REALLY good striker.

Pirlo plays nothing like karimi...... karimi is a dribbler and pirlo has the finest touching and passing. However, they both have good vision.
