Leeds United forward El Hadji Diouf has branded Steven Gerrard 'selfish' and claims the Liverpool captain was jealous of him.
In an interview with French newspaper L'Equipe, the 31-year-old former Liverpool forward claimed Gerrard does not care about the club's results, as long as he puts in a good individual performance.
Diouf spent three years on Merseyside before moving to Bolton Wanderers in 2005 after a loan spell at Reebok Stadium.
The former Senegal international also mentioned Jamie Carragher in a similar light, but did not divulge any information about the long-serving defender.
"Gerrard was jealous of me back then as I had the world at my feet," Diouf said.
"There's no one more selfish, he doesn't care about anyone else. Gerrard rather Liverpool lost and he scored.
"The old Liverpool guys can't stand him. I won't even start with Carragher."
