C'mon. They lost it and they will lose again against Spain. They were not 10 the entire game. Spain is by far the strongest team in Europe.

Italy sucks, I was hoping Germany would've reached the final in EUro 2012 since they would have a realistic shot of defeating Spain.

lol funny italy played with spain 1-1 in the first match and gave them a hell of a game, the final was a bad luck night for italy, and italy spanks germany everytime they play

italy was forced to an early sub cuz of an injury to chiellini...so there goes 1 sub...cassano who just recovered from a heart condition was subbed at half and the 3rd sub who came in 57th min...went out immediately due to injury....so it was a combination of bad luck and horrible decisions by the coach. Once u are down 2-0 against spain or even italy, germany, holland, any top team its not easy to make a come back...so yea they ran out of gas by 85th min. and spain scored 2 more goals...woopdy doo....yes italy was losing but the final result wasnt a true indication.....and like he mentioned above italy already dominated first game against spain in group stages and shouldve won if it wasnt for balotelli trying to be cute and get fancy with his finishing

I am realistic and I can tell you, Italy wouldn't win anyway in this game. Spain was having fun with them. When you lose 4-0, there is no excuse. The level of the opposed team is higher than yours.
How could Spain be a bad team while in the most difficult competition, only one team could score against them (only one goal during whole competition)? Be rational instead of emotional and defending emotionally a team.
And Spain is not by far the strongest team in Europe? How can they win so many competititons? And why Italy doesn't win so many competitions? I mean be logicial. At least recognize the capacity of Spain's national team.
And there is a logic behind that. Check the teams like FCB or RM and the Spain team is mainly composed by these players of these two teams which are amongst the richest and the best in Europe.
During the recent years, I haven't heard about an Italian winning the ballon d'or. Why? If the Italians are so good as you claim, why Messi who plays for FCB is winning?
I support French team. But French team plays bad. Why should I say France is the best in the world while it is not.

ekky joon, I do not hate Italy. I said the recent years meaning since the WC. Not in 2006.
What I say is that Spain's team has changed. This team will continue to be among the best in the world as the country invested in football. In the world cup in South Africa, both Italy and France were eliminated at the first round.
Again, I agree that Italy made good in Euro but the level of the team wasn't the same as Spain. Even my Italian friends who still want to kill the referee who made lose Italy against South Korea in 2002 (lol) agree that Italy has no the same level as Spain (and not just Italy). Today this is the reality of football.

Asghar jaan Spain is a special team, its a special generation. However people make them a tad bit more special than they are...looking at euros; they tied italy (got dominated first game when it was 11 vs. 11) beat the shit out ireland, won over croatia by 1 goal and a controvertial goal that wasnt counted, France was absolute shit that they beat, tied portugal and beat them in penalties and won over a 10 man italy. Its not like they are invincible, they have been demolished by portugal, argentina and other teams in friendlies as well...and lost to US 2-0 in confederations cup...so they're not invincible...but they are good and a special generation and they are feeding off of the investment of barcelona and real basically

Pirlo is special and more than xavi/iniesta cuz look at the teams he's on vs. them....put iniesta in Juventus and would he have done the same? i doubt it

saadi jan, out of the topic. Do you think Spanish football will not continue to flourish? I mean, check the amount of money they are investing in FCB, and RM. I think such level of investment should continue to make them amongst the best teams in the world as they will be able to continue to create excellent players with these two teams and two or three players they have here and there.
I would say actually on Spain that their team wins not bc of quality of the individuals like Xavi or Iniesta but the whole team.

I agree on France. First the team is not playing regularly well. They beat last time Italy but it was a friendly. There is something wrong in the management of the team and there have been a lot of tensions within the team.
