Official Arsalan Kazemi Rips Pac-12 a New One Thread
This was my first time watching Arsalan play; I watched the first half and most of the second half. He played a great game overall, damesh garm.
His rebounding both on the offensive and defensive is outstanding. He also has a great eye for the basket in the paint.
With that said, he definitely has some room for improvement. There were a couple of times where he lost his man on defense and UCLA got an easy 2. I feel like he needs to be a little more selfish with the ball as well. It seemed like every time he got the ball outside the paint, he was looking for the pass instead of putting his head down and making a move to the basket or even taking a jump shot (weak area of his i'm assuming).
Also, although he didn't start, he still played 29 minutes! That's more than the other 2 forwards who started and played 25 minutes! The coach had him in for the last 11 minutes in the second half straight if i'm not mistaking, that's a great sign. Shows he has a lot of trust in him at the end of the game.
Their schedule is not that bad at all if you take a look since they only play Arizona and UCLA once this year. I wouldn't be surprised if we saw Oregon undefeated in the Pac-12 and in the top 10 in a couple of weeks

Right on spot MoJo... He is too unslefish and his coach Altman has set that he has yet to figure out the key to unlock Arsalan's offense. This is Dana Altman's read on Kazemi before the trip to LA.
Altman said he's trying to urge the defensive-minded Kazemi to be more aggressive offensively. "He's a mature young man, very intelligent," Altman said. "I want him to do more. There's so much more there. I just haven't been able to find a key to unlock it. He doesn't feel comfortable with his role on our team yet.
"He's one of the most unselfish players I've ever coached. His focus is on defense and rebounding. If he scores, great. If he doesn't, he doesn't care. I want him to be a little more assertive."
About Oregon winning the Pac-12, right now they're in the drivers seat to do so, specially given that they will not play Arizona, UCLA & Arizona State again this year(3 of top 5 teams in the conference). They do have Colorado & Washington on the road though, so it's going to be tough. BTW no team has ever won the conference with a perfect record!
arsalan used to be more offensive and pretty explosive in Rice! for some reason in this new team he's not like that. I also noticed in practice before 2nd half he was practicing his free throws while others were doin the usual jump shots. He can take shots or drive the basket in and he needs to do more of it to be even more attractive for NBA teams.
but honestly im convinced he will get drafted this year. He's mature enough and KNOWS how to read the game which is more important for coaches and teams when they consider players.

If he does not get drafted this year he should try Europe, seriously if he keeps this up and goes undrafted he is never getting drafted out of college. But that's a very pessimistic POV, I could see him being a first round pick considering the shallow draft of 2013.

yea he already has offers from china and europe and he can go for the money but like haddadi he rather give up the money for NBA. im sure he'll get drafted, theres way too much praise for him and his team is riding high they can win the pac-12 now theres no way he's not on scouts radars being one of the best in his team consistently.
even IF he doesnt get drafted he can try out at summer camps and someone from there will pick him up. I just with he would get more involved offensively like his coach wants and he doesnt have confidence to shoot jump shots but he needs to try it.

He is a kid playing abroad who has just moved to a new college, can't expect him to adapt so fast I think his coach does not get it and has been pushing him unnecessarily.
Most of you guys fail to realize that Oregon is NOT Rice. Rice didn't have that many offensive threats which is why AK excelled in scoring. Coming to Oregon, AK brings a veteran approach to a very young team with his defense and leadership. Oregon has many capable scorers. This team has a great mix of veteran and young athletes.

good points...also he is playing in a much harder conference. the competition he's facing now is far better than his previous years. thats what really impresses me the most about him....that he's playing well against great teams. this is gonna help him get recognition a lot
