Seems like AK lit his team up at halftime when they were down by 8...

Oregon men do a Ute turn to break losing streak
Arsalan Kazemi erupts at halftime and the Ducks explode for 51 points to snap a three-game skid
For the Oregon men’s basketball team, inspiration came from an unexpected source when the Ducks needed it desperately.
They were trailing Utah, 30-22 at halftime, Saturday evening before 9,041 restless fans at Matthew Knight Arena. Going back to the second half of the Colorado game Thursday night, 19th-ranked Oregon’s third straight loss, the Ducks had scored a mere 41 points in 40 minutes.
And so there was a lot to be said in the Oregon locker room, and for the first time, it was soft-spoken senior forward Arsalan Kazemi doing the talking.
“He was screaming like, ‘this is our team. We can’t let the coach get mad at us,’” freshman guard Damyean Dotson said. “He was like, ‘we can’t let the coaches talk, this is our team. We’ve got to step up as leaders and do it, and don’t talk about it, just do it.’”
With Kazemi leading the way, by deeds as well as words, the Ducks rallied for a 73-64 victory over the Utes, to improve to 19-5 overall and 8-3 in the Pac-12.
“Coach asked me, he wants me to be one of the leaders on the team and talk more,” said Kazemi, who finished with 11 points and 14 rebounds in a game in which the Ducks dominated the boards, 41-19. “I realized that was the time. We were down and we just needed someone to stand up and talk, and that’s what I did.”
Perfect timing, said coach Dana Altman.
“He’s the nicest guy in the world, but basketball is a game of passion,” Altman said. “We want guys to be emotional, we want them to be fired up and play, and he’s got that laid-back cool.
“At halftime he let his teammates know that it was important to him, and man, I thought the second half he was unbelievable, blocking shots, rebounding, starting the break. I think that’s as good a half as he’s had the whole year. ...
“He was the difference in the game.”
In retrospect, Kazemi figured in a play that might have been a big difference in the game. With 17:25 remaining, Utah’s Cedric Martin was assessed a technical foul for a play that sent Kazemi sprawling under the Oregon basket while Dotson was nailing a jumper. E.J. Singler, who led Oregon with 21 points, made both free throws to complete a four-point possession that brought the Ducks within two, at 30-28.
“He grabbed me from my hip,” Kazemi said. “It was a wrestling move. We watch a lot of wrestling in Iran, and that’s what they do, and that’s what they were doing from the beginning of the game.”
Utah coach Larry Krystkowiak, whose cellar-dwelling team fell to 10-13 and 2-9, said the call was a turning point.
“I thought so,” he said. “I just wanted them (the officials) to look at the monitor. Kazemi is a physical player, and if he’s tied up and there’s somebody on the floor … Cedric’s not trying to push the guy. … I thought the timing of that was pretty big.”
Said Utah center Jason Washburn: “Those types of things seem so small when they happen, … but there’s no little things in basketball. Things can turn on such small things and that may have been one of the turning points. The crowd got into it after that, they got a lot of energy from it and they took off.”
Also big was Oregon’s response after point guard Johnathan Loyd was forced briefly from the game, and the floor, when he was struck in the eye while trying to trap Washburn, who was called for a foul with the Utes leading 43-41. The Ducks scored the next eight points, taking a 49-43 lead, upped that lead to 56-45 with 3:58 remaining and made enough free throws down the stretch, including two more by Singler after a second Utah technical with 1:14 remaining, to ice it.
Oregon’s last 14 points came on free throws, and Singler finished 12-of-13 from the free-throw line.
Meanwhile, Dotson scored 16 points, 14 in the second half, for his first double-digit game since the win over Washington State on Jan. 23.
“It wasn’t me just thinking I had to take over, it was me knowing I had to take over, because nobody was contributing, and I felt we all had to come together, and it started with me,” Dotson said.
Oregon staffers had put together a video for Dotson of his better games earlier in the season.
“Sometimes you just have to remind them what they’ve done and how well they can play,” Altman said.
“I thought that second half, he looked like the old Dot.”
And, for Oregon, just in time, too.

AK has strengths and obvious weaknesses so I hope he works his ass off during the offseason more than previous years cause it's gonna be probably the most important summer of his life.
Thabeet is a good example....he averaged 3 blocks in COLLEGE as a 7'3'' guy so they were all hyping him like he's the next OLAJUWON (?) hmmm well his game was nothing like hakeem but because he was AFRICAN they looked at him like that. Arsalan is iranian so they have no one to compare him too but u can bet if there was an iranian before him they would relate the two.
i think reallistically arsalan is prob one of the best draft picks this year just for the simple fact of how he UNDERSTANDS the game and knows where to be. Add to his rebounding the ability that he can have so many steals and actually handle the ball and he's a quick guy...he can be succesful in nba. I do agree that he fits in best with the type of coach that needs a player like that. He's not the typical player that can be good anywhere but players like him are rare in my eyes. And as far as his size there have been plenty of smaller power forwards his height and lower that were successful in nba, famous ones being barkley (6'5'') and rodman (6'8'')

^ I see nowhere in the articles including that he has played with the national team. The guy has enough experience and faced many different opponents and in the previous summer he played against US which I found he did an okay job for his age. How many of these NCAA players have had the chance to guard KD or whoever that was in that FIBA tournamentsigpic
