Iranian-American drafted to the American Football League

One of my Iranian friends living in the states just messaged me (once I got home from the ER) and told me that an Iranian America football player was drafted into the national league (nfl), by the green bay packers. his name is David Bakhtiari

Interesting. We had a neighbor in Isfahan named Jamshid Bakhtiar whom played for the University of Virginia. He was half American. His dad was probably one of the 1st Iranian immigrants to the US because this Jamshid in probably in his 70s right now. I wonder if this David guy is related even though he has an i at the end of his surname.

Well I wouldn't count Houshmandzadeh az Iranian. ESPN once asked him what does your last name mean and he said "if you find out let me know".
There was another guy named Shahriar Pourdanesh that played for The redskins in the late 80s early 90s.
