Iran has been drawn in Group B along with Indonesia, India and Turkmenistan in the event.

“We are going to win the championship, that’s why we are here. Qatar will participate in the competition with two American players and it shows they want to win the title on home soil,” Iran coach Abbas Agha-Kouchaki told ISNA on Monday.

A total of 16 teams divided into four groups of four will take part in the three-day competition in Doha’s Al Gharafa Sports Club.

The top two teams from each group will then go on to play the quarterfinal play-offs.

      Groups are as follow:

Group A: Mongolia, Qatar A, the Philippines, Sri Lanka

Group B: Iran, Indonesia, Turkmenistan, India

Group C: Lebanon, Nepal, Taiwan, Saudi Arabia

Group D: Japan, Jordan, Hong Kong, Qatar B

The competition considers as qualification for the 2014 FIBA 3x3 World Championships which will be held in Moscow, Russia.

Why does Qatar have two teams?

I guess one is a team of foreigners where they call the A team, while the other, a team consisting of the original shitty players , Qatar B, more like BS.
