How will US do?

Just wondering if the US, ranked 4th in the world, will make it out of its group? Any thoughts?

Actually, amazed at how far US soccer has progressed given that 15-20 years ago they were weaker than my awful Canada!

of course the US is gonna make it out the group. i used to work out with eddie johnson, hed get on the tredmil and do 24 mph speed intervals of 10 seconds over and over again

I think the US has a fair chance of going to the second round. However, I think the Czech Republic and Italia are the favourites.

I think Italy and the Czechs will be very tough for the US. No idea of how Ghana will fair but it will be a dogfight for the US I think. I think the Czechs should beat the US and Italy as always will be a power to contend with. Tough group for the US.

The only person who needs to worry will be Onyewu himself when he has to face the likes of Luca Toni, Michael Essien, Gattuso, Rosicky, Koller, Totti among others in the group. The USA will need to perform out of their skins and even better than 2002 if they dream abt going past the other teams in their group.

However this time I dont expect to them to pull off any surprises againt either Italy, Czech Republic, and Ghana. They have a chance against Ghana, but I am not sure they can overcome 'em.

At the end of the day, I could be wrong, but my assumptions seem too good to be false. I mean in 2002, USA drew with Korea, were hammered by Poland, and beat a terrible Portugal to qualify for the KO stage.

I meant to say that Portugal were having a terrible campaign, they lost to both South Korea and USA in 2002.

I would love to see USA fall flat on its face and make their "Top 10 FIFA ranking" a fluke of mathematics.
