You could obviously tell that Japan's side was tired and really fatigued quick. They just couldn't tie it together in the middle and final thirds. If I was an ultra nippon i really wouldn't worry however. Japan will still do work during the world cup.
Well then they were absolutely idiots for playing with their A team. Like i said above.
No they are not. They have an obligation to Australia, Oman, and Jordan to give their best in all games, even if qualified. If It was our group, we'd have wanted them to go and beat Iraq as it's an important game.
Had Japan played a B team in Doha, and lost to Iraq....then the complexions of that group would have been VERY different.
well done to Japan for being professional. Confed. is a glorified friendly tournament....WCQ more important.
Why did japan play with so many starters in a meaningless game vs iraq while they have a conf. Game vs. Brasil 4 days later.. Jet lag, fatigue...
Fairplay, the result of this match would have had direct effect on other teams of the group, how tolerant all of us would be should Qatar send their B team to face Uzbekistan on Tuesday? it would definitely be very unfair to both us and Korea. Japan has always been a super class-act team for I always admire them!
On a side note, both S. Korea and Japan in the past few years have noticeably dropped some of their past quality, for Korea it's somewhat understandable as they lost some of they key players due to retiring from NT, however Japan's drop is unjustifiable, the luckily drew Australia in the added time by a Penalty shot, and last week they barely managed to defeat a weakened Iraqi side, not to mention their disappointing club display of this year's ACL.
n the other hand TM has impressively picked up its game and quickly regaining its past power, thus hopefully earning its Asian powerhouse respect!

Yeah, I thought Iraq was already out for the first 3 places. My mistake
