Just finished am talking to ak who has a bloody head and missed one quarter of the game against isfahani team.
2 years ago when the rice coach was deliberately limiting his minutes and changing his position for what I personally thought, a way to lower his stock and make him stay another year our very own masoud who is a hamshahri and fan of his said, "Arsalan has regressed a bit". These words burnt into my memory like it happend yesterday. A guy who had nothing but love for him thinking that what does that mean for the rest of us?? Later on ak moved on to Oregon and the rest is history. Going to rice was a mistake and a mistake I will be forever grateful for cuz I wouldn't have the lil brother I happen to have now if it wasn't for it. I told him going to Iran was a mistake and it is a mistake. Right now he is doing so many sacrifices for the good of the team. I am not going to elaborate more as I think I have made it clear enough for you guys to know what I mean. When ak comes back to the US next year he will be the same old Oregon duck ak. Trust me!

^^ They usually show the games on the "Ostani Channel" of the home teams so most games can be seen if u get access to those channels.
^ I really hope Arsalan can come back strong, but there are a few things we should have in mind. First of all one of the reasons Kazemi went back to play in Iran is because the NT coach Memi Becirovic was & is dead serious about training camps and the necessity of all players participating in them if they want a spot on the roster. So i doubt if he can be fully available the whole summer to work out with the 76er's, which as a consequence will hurt his chances on impressing them.
Secondly it should be noted that Arsalan was a proven beastly player in the rebounding and hustling categories and yet he was drafted at number 54 . So if he regresses in those 2 departments he will lose his edge and probably won't be signed.
You can't find a single scouting report not mentioning AK is a player without a jumpshot and in those summer league games he was known to be a liability on offense. So one thing they surely wanted him to improve in should be taking 15-17 footers and also developing some kind of a corner 3. I can guarantee he has done nothing about that yet and also he isn't even thinking about taking a jumper whenever he gets the ball. As we all know shooting isn't only a technical matter but it really pends on the mentality of the shooter too. At least we know he doesn't have the later and has yet to show if he has the former.
P.S: The Iranian basketball League is really "vahshi bazi" so he might try to be protecting himself somehow. They really don't have any fear to clash hard and also the hand checking rule is messed up in the league so you can see some really tough and dirty plays.

ya thats what persianbruin was saying....that arsalan is afraid of going too hard cuz they play rough and can injure u....so a lot of it has to do with him trying to be careful

but you are 100% correct about the shooting....he NEEDS to immediately get better at jump shots and practice the corner 3...even if he finds a couple of sweet spots it'll be great....at this stage he should not be so insecure about his shooting

regarding the summer trainings, i think he will prefer to get a spot in 76ers vs. iran NT....He's pretty much a lock there, the coach would be foolish to leave him off lol
i would say he should take 76ers priority cuz thats his future and he only has one chance. But also if iran plays US again and arsalan has a good performance that will def. help his nba career

National team means a lot to AK. Particularly the 2015-16 season as TM really wants to go to the Olympics again.

im sure it is but one pays you and the other is free. i doubt they get paid for national team. but nba is his future and how he will make a living moving forward. i suppose he can continue staying in iran and get paid but then all the trouble he went thru here would be a waste.

honestly i dont know i want him to do both and i hope he can. i just wanna see him in the nba, but its kinda disappointing to see he's not doing anything about his shot. if he's not shooting, he needs some kind of a hook shot or drive close to the basket and shoot...something offensively he needs to develop.

i am pretty sure even Chinese league, Turkish league would have been a better fit for him then Iran Super League.

to be fair i correctly predicted that if he was drafted that he most likely wouldnt be in the league.

He had an interview with ISNA and he said he is touch with the Sixers and he sends them game tapes.
