na baba! He was the one who made the mistake and I just didn't feel like correcting him. Don't even know why we were texting as we were supposed to see each other an hour after that. I thought I was going to tell him when I saw him. in text zadan maraz shodeh vaseh hameh

Haven't been to Iran for 5 years. I am sure I am in for a shock when I go!

Anyways ak is in turkey with his team playing some games. They had a game against aljeysh of Qatar yesterday

arsalan kazemis season averages so far at petro. 14.4 points, 2.9 steals, 1.6 assists, 0.9 blocks, 14 rebounds, 60% Freethrow, 54% Field Goal, 34.1 minutes. Good season so far by AK, averaging a double double, he needs to improve his freethrow shooting though

I dont think they can even watch his games or videos unless if they have a close connection w the team. I never see basketball highlights from iran. I doubt arsalan even has access to those lol

I've watched 5 of Kazemi's games and i must say i'm pretty disappointed.

His FT shooting is mediocore at best and all that rebounding numbers u see are not because he has been improving but the competition is very very weaker in the IBL. Still he is way better than the rest and he kicks a$$ in that department.

His style of play hasn't changed a single bit, oh it has and that is he has became very null about the game. He doesn't try hard and doesn't really hustle anymore, maybe because back then when he was in the US he had a point to prove but now it's not the case and also to prevent injuries.
He doesn't take a jump shot AT ALL. Once he was forced to do so and that was because the shotclock was expiring, he shot a jumper from the FT line and it hit the back board not the rim!
He isn't eager to challenge the shots near the rim and doesn't bother jump to defend(remember when he had a 2 handed monster block against Louisville in the sweet 16?) and also doesn't play that beautiful pick & roll defense we used to see.

My fear is that if he gets used to this style of playing it's very hard to get back to that Arsalan we all remember...

After all i think why did he make this decision? Why didn't he choose Europe? I can't think of anything but his willingness to be next to his family, because basketball-wise he has hurt his chances big time.

damn man, sad to hear this. how did u catch the games anyway?

that was my fear too when he went to iran, i mean the drop in quality alone was a good reason not to go but i also understand the reasoning too cuz in europe they might have not even played him and it woulda hurt his chances anyways. But its sad to hear he's not at least trying his jump shots. i can understand if he doesnt hustle like when he was here cuz he doesnt have to but at least improve that stupid jump shot, how bad can it be? i really hope he doesnt screw this up, after all the hard work he put in.....luckily iran's league is over in like march/april time so he should head back to US immediately and start getting a real work out
