What an amazing display by Ronaldo in both legs, he single-handedly owned the entire Swedish side.

Honestly after these 2 matches it makes it too hard not to choose him as the winner of Ballon D'or (Golden ball)

It's sad not to see Ibrahimovic in WC though, today's match was all Ronaldo vs Ibra

He had his chance. He made the wrong decision.

FIFA should have given Europe an extra spot, so Sweden could qualify.

World Cup is nothing without me' - Ibrahimovic

Following Sweden's defeat to Portugal in a World Cup play-off the attacker made the incredible claim that Brazil 2014 will not be worth watching now that he is not involved

Sweden international Zlatan Ibrahimovic has made a startling assertion that the 2014 World Cup will not be worth watching following his side's elimination from the play-offs because he will not be there.

Ibrahimovic could not prevent his side's hopes of making it to Brazil from being dashed despite scoring a double, as Cristiano Ronaldo stole the show with an outstanding hat-trick to win the match for Portugal in the second leg play-off 3-2 (4-2 on aggregate).

The 32-year-old, who admits it might be his last attempt to reach a World Cup, says the major tournament being held next June will not be worth following now that he will not be involved.

"It was probably the last attempt to reach the World Cup with the national team for me. One thing is for sure, a World Cup without me is nothing to watch so it is not worth while to wait for the World Cup," he said to his app Zlatan unplugged.

"Congratulations to Portugal, but both teams deserved to get to the World Cup.

"The disappointment of course is great now that the World Cup in Brazil will remain a dream for the Swedish national team."

honestly there shouldnt even be playoffs for europe.....they should let top 2 of each group make it or maybe eliminate 2 of them only. It doesnt make sense that crap teams make the WC and some other good teams dont.

as bad as it will be for us, but asia, africa and concacaf shouldnt have so many spots....they should battle it out with each other for those 5th spots

The Bosnian should shut his mouth and realize that he could have been in the World Cup had he not sold out. If he has anything to say he should have said it on the field against Portugal.

He didn't sell out, Bosnia didn't want him.

And since he was born in Sweden, according to Swedish law and FIFA regulations he is Swedish as well and can play for Sweden.

                      FIFA investigating Simunic chant

                      20 November 2013

FIFA are investigating Josip Simunic's controversial celebrations after Croatia secured their place at the World Cup finals.
The defender took to the microphone on the pitch after the 2-0 play-off win over Iceland at the Maksimir Stadium in Zagreb on Tuesday night and chanted "For the homeland!", to which fans responded "Ready!".

That was the cry used by the Croatian pro-Nazi puppet regime called the Ustashas, who ruled the state when thousands of people were killed in concentration camps during World War II.

Reports suggest Simunic could be disciplined by FIFA and the world governing body confirmed they are looking into the incident.
A FIFA spokesperson told Perform: "We are in the process of analysing the different match officials' reports and gathering information. We cannot comment further for the time being."
Australia-born Simunic, 35, was initially quoted as saying: "Some people have to learn some history. I'm not afraid."
However, the Dinamo Zagreb centre-back later released a statement through his club's official website denying any wrong-doing.
His statement said: "The thought that someone could put me in the context of hate speech is terrible to me.
"I don't want to be pathetic, but as a Croat raised outside his homeland, I associate 'home', love, warmth and positive struggle. Maksimir, Zagreb, Croatia - that's my home.
"If anyone understood me in a different, negative way, I hereby dismiss any political context of my words."
Goals from Mario Mandzukic - who was also sent off - and Dario Srna sealed Croatia's passage to Brazil after the first leg had finished goalless.

At least he has some pride in his motherland left.

TM doesn't want me but that doesn't mean I will line up for another country's national team. If I did, I too would be a sell out.

FIFA delayed the Ballon d'or until 29th of november, so that CR7 can win it. What a scandal is these FIFA joke. the play offs will be > than the rest of the year.

The only reason is because the song is for him. He is Sweden! They are singing for him about him and only him!
